I don't even know what mine are for anyway. And, I'm nearly 60, not 6 - why are we treated like we are toddlers? complete rubbish3

Fully agree with this post. I too go to my profile, click on threads to find threads to see if anyone has updated them, have to scroll past loads of Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges!

It would be OK if they were shown on the default landing page for the profile. But once we click a link (e.g. to look at threads or replies) we don't still need to see them!1

We see it constantly in inane slogans, catch-phrases, and the bestowing of meaningless titles in workplaces (I did temp in an American bank in London for a few months, where every small department had a vice-president). Badges and other enticements, more suitable for boy/girl scout cubs, are handed out in the misplaced belief that the recipient will feel "part of something".Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.1 -
The badges were always there Quasar it's just that they are bigger on the profile page now and you have to scroll passed them to get to what you want to look at.0
