Evening all and thanks @PurpleFairy26 for getting us started this week.
Today in the way of small things I've
* checked banking and updated spreadsheet
* ironed a few of dh's bits but switched off as I started the final one to make the most of the residual heat.
* made a risotto for tea, used up a couple of manky onions and the last of the mushrooms, threw in some frozen peas and corn and used chicken stock I had in the freezer - had with some salmon and garlic bread YUM YUM YUM! Dh & ds's say it was the best risotto yet (I only made my 1st ever one earlier this year!)
* checked off Mr T cc, alway pay off in full, use it for the points (and there are a lot of points this month!! but all planned spends as least)
* checked school uniform situation - just need to adjust the hem on both of their trousers (will leave this til just before they go back though!)
* ordered ds2 some new trainers ready for school as they have to be all black- went through tcb
* posted rm survey (pre lockdown I was a lazy mare and would have driven to the post box! Not now as its part of my exercise route!)
Take care one and all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Hi August Austerity Fans,A blessed day off. Went shopping today. My bank card didn't work in Aldi. Turns out there was a fraud stop on it, again. My card had been compromised, again. Had to wait on the phone for an hour to get a block put on the card.Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Six:

We like risotto and it features on our meal plan regularly.
My sister on the other hand refuses to try it or to cook it as she doesn't like the idea of soggy rice 🤣 I don't know where she has seen risotto but it isn't here or our parent's house.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

@allydowd - what a pain about the card! You say compromised again... is there somewhere you shop regularly perhaps that might be not so safe? I swear that the time mine got diddled that it was the petrol station.
@1LuckyLady - we're big fans of risotto. I call it one of my "culinary dustbins" as I'll just chuck in anything that's knocking about!LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.316 -

Morning all! 😊
Todays moneysaving -
Laundry hung on the line;
Dinner is garlic crushed new potatoes, warm cannellini beans with lemon oil, black tuscan kale with 'chorizo' and corn on the cob - the kale and corn are from the garden and the rest is from stores so no money spent 😉
I've done a load of shredding this morning which will get composted (makes growing veg cheaper if you can make your own compost) or made into fire 'bricks' so free fuel in the winter! 🙌
Tomorrow is the payday money shuffle so I'm challenging myself to spend the least possible in September - I have two 'budgeted for' birthdays but no other big financial events next month - it's the first month in over two years that every penny of my salary is not already accounted for/spent before I get it!! 🙈😂7 -
@smushesma - I'll be to yours for dinner
Morning folks
Much cooler here thank goodness. Destroyed myself with a 6am gym session this morning. Wish I could veg out today but need to crack on with this report at work and then we're going to dinner with b-i-l and s-i-l tonight. She's having a bit of a bad time so b-i-l asked us out to try and cheer her up a bit. M-i-l is very hurt not to be invited and even more upset that she's been left alone. She can't cope with being alone and needs pretty much constant company still
Sad news to report on our Christmas potatoes. I nipped up to the allotment last night for a check round and they are blighted. OH has gone up there today to pull them all out.
All doom and gloom aren't I? Right must crack on with the report...
Have a good one all
