What small DFW things will you do w/c 17th August?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Morning folks. Happy Monday 😀
Up and about early so I thought I’d start us off. We do have builders in today, so that may limit what I can achieve as we obviously need to stay out of the area they are working in.My list for today:check banking
check payment has arrived at just for points CC
sign some forms and hand deliver as it’s local and will save postage
triage fridge
check for courgettes I can see the rain may have been having an impact!Check whether we need to order name labels for school
bit of housework - not much left to do
something out of freezer for tea, update freezer inventory
I’m sure there is more but that will do for now. Have a good day. Purps.6 -
Thanks for the new thread purps! 😊
Didn't get on much last week as it was a bit hectic so will try more this week!
Today will be busy too but at some point I'll be sowing seeds for veggies and flowers (it will save me a fortune in bedding plants 😉) and I have rescued some cardboard boxes which I will use instead of weed suppressant at the base of some raised beds we are making from recycling some boxes 😊
Dinner will be from the garden and store cupboard so no pennies spent there and I will be having another NSD 🙌
I will hang washing out after it has finished in the wm and fill up the toiletries from the bulk containers using a funnel and leaving the top part of the bottle empty so that I can rinse the funnel into it - the product doesn't suffer from the dilution and it stretches it out a bit 😉
Hope everyone has a great day! ☺7 -
Morning folks
All back to normal service herecouldn't get the scooter as the place doesn't open on Sundays. I might call them this week to inquire a bit in advance to see what I need to do.
Main things this week are workworkworkworkwork and not spending lots of money! OH is applying for his next self-employed money today and then we're going to m-i-l's after dinner to keep her company for an hour or so,
Have a good one all

I guess the main thing I won't be doing is asking for any advice regarding credit card interest. Unless reading responses to people who haven't read the question is my thing.3

Hi
Hope you don’t mind me joining in. Have been reading along recently but not posting. I’m currently debt free, as I paid off my car finance in June, 18 months early 😁 but want to build up my savings now with a view to buying a house within the next few years.
Things I have done over the last few days are:
- bought advance tickets for train as having to go into office for “keep in touch” day tomorrow so we can see everyone in person for the first time since March
- my mum cut my hair rather than me going to hairdressers - I bought some hair scissors a few months ago
Things to do today:
- sort out stuff to take into office and bring back from office tomorrow- make up fruit salad using fruit that’s on the way out
- Swagbucks
- take pictures of a couple of items I want to put on Facebook Marketplace

Afternoon allSo far today I have:Early morning dog walk doneHome grown raspberries with breakfastPrepped, blanched and froze a big bucket of French beans. Must bag them up shortly (I open freeze them on trays then they can go in a couple of big bags rather than loads of little ones)Load of washing, just got in off the line as it looks as though it might rainPost office with a RM surveys item, and went to sales unit. Not much sold (never does in August). Didn't take anything in with me, but must sort out some bits to take down on Wednesday.Leftovers for lunchPicked another lot of beans. Saw neighbours and gave them someGave my basil plantation a good haircut and made pesto. 3 tubs for the freezer and one for dinnerMade a small batch of red tomato chutney, ready for bottling in a minuteI still need to feed the tomato plants and deal with the dry washing. Hopefully none will need ironing!May defrost the smaller freezer. Will see how I feel.5
