When I was selling my house and requested a management pack, I rang them daily asking for an update! They were absolutely useless but I was so desperate to get the sale through I thought it couldn't help. Eventually I reached someone who compiled it and sent it over that day.
Who did you manage to speak to?

The management firm themselves. I just googled their number and went round the houses to find the right dept.
Can't remember the firm name but it was for a Persimmon house.

Do you think this approach would help hurry things along if I was to contact the management company myself? Just so frustrating as theres no chains involved and were first time buyers😣

No, you're not their client, the seller is.  You can ask the EA to ask the seller/seller's solicitor to chase, but the management company are under no obligation to correspond with you.

we will just have to sit and wait then😣.
Apparently the seller has been chasing it and so have our solicitors. 🤔 as first time buyers I guess we're a little impatient and wanted things done ASAP.
  • I know this post is from last year, but just wondering how long it actually took for your management pack to be sorted? We are also first time buyers with no chain and have been waiting almost 8 weeks with no avail...been in the process for 3 months and it’s the only thing holding us up
  • And continuing this...Kayzielil, I hope you have received it by now?
  • I have been waiting 6 months and feel like I’m coming to the end of my final straw. I’m buying and I feel I have exhausted everything. My solicitor says they can’t do anything, the estate agent says it’s not on them and it’s for the buyer. The buyer is saying they have done all they can. I just think 6 months is shocking. I even tried to find out the management company of the estate to try and get them to provide the management pack for the estate.

    You're the buyer, yes?
Your solicitor is waiting for the management pack from the seller's solicitor, yes?

The seller has to pay for the pack.  Once the seller has done this, the solicitor orders it or waits for the seller/manco to provide it.  If you have contact with the seller (direct or through the EA), find out if they have actually paid for the pack.  This is usually where the delays start, when a seller doesn't realise that the Management Company don't send out their packs for free, neither can a solicitor add the cost to their client account to be paid later.

However waiting 6 months is far too long.  Are you sure the seller wants to sell?  Has the seller found an onward purchase?
  • We are selling our house at the moment. I contacted the managing company and paid directly. Took less than 2 weeks.
