This is probably not going to help, but I've just been speaking to my next door neighbour and her DIL works for next customer service (call centre) and she was saying that they are well aware of people using codes in the past that is why things have been done differently this year.
She also said that they had loads of complaints from VIP's who were angry that they had a slot but were unable to get anything as all the stock had gone before they had their turn due to these codes being abused, so this time they will be checking accounts before they send out goods and if anyone has abused this they will have their order cancelled and will not be entitled to receive VIP invites in the future.
Seems a bit harsh, and it is second hand info, so I guess we willl just have to see.0 -
quite worrying though and puts me off wanting to use these codes just incaseWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

I doubt they'll be that bothered, after all, a sale is a sale.0

how strange tho one next employee says there is no code and another says there is but those who use it will have their accounts closed?Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

maybe these are vips in disguise trying to scare us off as theyre scared the decent stuff will all be gone come their slotWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

Why would they close an account if the account holder is a really good customer that spends hundreds if not thousands each year? I doubt it very much. I personally think they prefer to stagger the sale as they can't handle the millions that would otherwise try to order on the first day of the sale. That and to entice low spenders (who also get chosen as VIP's) to spend more.0

They mentioned the order being cancelled, not the actual account.
I agree with the rest of the post though. The last time I bought anything from next was one of the last sales, and that was just a couple of t-shirts so the whole year I've spent less than £100. I actually got a VIP invite for that sale aswell but forgot to log in during the right time so just got the t-shirts when the sale opened up to everyone.
For those people who have said they never receive VIP invites you may need to check whether you're set up to receive marketing emails as I think you may need to be. The VIP invite itself talks about it being a promotion email and gives instructions how to unsubscribe from marketing emails etc.
For those of you hoping for a code... I can't remember if the last VIP invite had the same sort of warning/info but the footer of the VIP invite email does say the following:
"This invite is exclusively for you and only invited customers will be able to order."
**EDIT** Just searched through my emails and found the old one from back in July... it has the same footer at the bottom so I presume its irrelevant.0 -
