Hermes left a parcel with neighbor even though I didn’t request this

I’m away from home at the moment and expected Hermes to attempt delivery again tomorrow. However they took it upon themselves to leave it with a neighbor even though I didn’t request it in the app

who is in the wrong here ?

If it goes missing then surely that would be the courier fault ?

Do you have reason to believe it will go missing now the neighbour has it?
  • Did you explicitly tell them not to do this?

In the app is an option to “ leave in safe place “ or “ leave with neighbor “
I didn’t tick either of them

Do you have reason to distrust this neighbour? Why are you concerned it has gone missing before it has gone missing...

You cannot make a claim for something going wrong, until it does. Unless you are planning to pretend it has gone wrong....

That's not the same as telling them not to do either.

What's the real problem here?  Do you suspect your neighbour will steal the item?  Are you not on speaking terms with them?

Not at all. I do have mental health issues which makes me cautious and slightly paranoid
