Barclys Blue rewards - Double still continuing?
Comments
-
My Blue Rewards total of £343 matches with two years worth of double bubble rewards for my two switches (£14x12=£168 x2 = £336) to this November, plus this month where I just got the standard £7.Retired 1st July 2021.
This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."0 -
This would have been my 13th month - no 13th bonus for me
Will check again tomorrow, ever hopeful

Odd that they are getting double rewards for longer than 12 months where others have not.colsten said:
Why is that odd? There are clear conditions for the double (and triple) bonus. If you have met the eligibility criteria and still didn't get the money, you would have a valid reason for a complaint.crumpet_man said:Also, it's odd that certain accounts are getting the double bonus and others are not.0 -
I still think that is because folk (like me) took advantage of the switch deal almost the moment it started , so logically the double rewards should have ended after 12 months- instead they continued until we reached the end date of the latest switch deal possible.crumpet_man said:

I believe the end date was November
I would suggest it might also be linked to the fact that so many employees are working at home, phone lines are manic, branch staff manning the phone lines because they were so busy (yes, I chatted to someone in branch but 100 miles away)
Maybe payments just slipped through the net...too much else going on?.... for once I was in the right place!

There was clearly some kind of manual process going on the background as they were not processed alongside the standard Blue Reward. They probably just took a business to decision to pay until the last possible valid month due to covid.Katiehound said:

Have to say, I couldn't last the year with them: no Google Pay, their clunky internet banking with error codes for everything and surly staff in most branches.0 -
well, it's not my main account and I usually bank online- but my now browser is unsupported! (my computer's too old!)
Other than that they have been fine. Nice little profit

You can of course install many different, up to date web browsers. Vivaldi, Opera, Firefox to name fewKatiehound said:well, it's not my main account and I usually bank online- but my now browser is unsupported! (my computer's too old!)

Now is not the moment to be trying to sort a new computer with all Covid rules! My Barclays banking will have to be via phone just at present

Windows 7 was released in 2009 and any Chromium browser (Opera, Vivaldi, Chrome etc) offers full support on windows 7.
There are versions which works on XP (2001) and Vista (2007) although Google dropped Chromium support for these in 2016.
If you're still on one of these it would be wise to upgrade sooner rather than later or, as has been suggested, familiarise yourself with a fully up to date Linux distro.0
