It is up to the place you bought it from to decide if they want to repair or replace. Apple have nothing to do with it, except for proving it was a manufacturing defect that should be honoured as per the MSE link I posted above.standardman said:

An iPad that is simply not charging can definitely be repaired it's just that apple choose to replace them with refurbished units rather than repair because it's easier/cheaper for them. But you didn't buy it from Apple so your consumer rights are against the seller like everyone has said and they want to repair it so you have to give them the chance to do that.standardman said:
