I hope so, the broker said they’re the quickest at the moment.firsttimebuyerlpl said:
Hopefully we'll get good new quickly. Average time is 15 working days from application to offer apparently.hannah2283 said:Had my text and email from Santander to confirm my application has been submitted via a broker this morning. Fingers crossed...0 -
hope so! Are they doing desktop valuations or physical ones?

My broker said that they’re likely to do a desktop valuation (but not for definite)0

No - if you have to rely on parents for a deposit, you are NOT a first time buyer at all.sarahholden47 said:Advice please- I’m a first time buyer.
Can a parent take out a bank loan to then ‘gift’ to me to use as a 15% deposit?
Mixed messages from banks...
Thanks in advance
If I were a parent I'd be very wary of doing such a thing. If a parent were just giving you some of their savings to pay a deposit, that's a different matter but allowing your parents to put themselves into that kind of debt is unfair, in my opinion.
I'd never take money from my parents if they'd had to take out a bank loan. Time to stand on your own two feet.
I hope banks are very careful before they allow this kind of loan. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. My Santander mortgage took 6 weeks from application to offer. App went in on 28 May. One employed and one of us self employed
Physical valuation done by Countrywide.0 -
Wow 6 weeks is a long time. It’s odd because you hear people getting an offer within a few days then others it may take weeks! Hoping mine is the former!!0
