Thanks BB. I've been busy out in the real world. I'm still debt free but currently devoting my spare time to a 'new campaign' outwith MSE.Baileys_Babe said:Good to see you back @allydowd I hope you and yours have kept safe and well in these interesting times.

Thanks @DawnW for the mushroom info, good to know!
Thanks @PurpleFairy26 I'll give that a try!
@allydowd Nice to "see" you back posting, and thanks as always for posting the helpful links
Its been very wet and wild here today so we've not been out. My parents came for the afternoon to share the chocolate fudge cake we'd bought belatedly for ds2s birthday. It was lovely to spend the afternoon with them.
In the way of small things
* shared bath water and let hair dry naturally.
* all meals from stores -
* banned the kids from tech for the morning!!
Thats about it, take care all.

Morning all
Today is the day when I defrost the large freezer. I was intending to wait till it was empty, or almost so, but have come to the realisation that this will never happen
So I have brought the electric coolbox in from the camper van. Obviously it won't all go in there, so I have also got some of the plastic boxes I bought for my sales stock, but use for all kinds of things, out of the loft. I will put some items in these with frozen ice pack things and cover them with blankets to keep them cold. It isn't a hot day and it won't take long, so I am sure all will be fine. When this is done, I have a huge bucket of French beans to freeze. And ironing to doBut more coffee needed before I tackle that lot I think
Managed a decent dog walk this morning, before the rain startedAnd I have just ventured out in the rain to pick a big handful of raspberries to go with my breakfast cereal

Goooooood morning!
Nice to "see" you back @allydowd
@DawnW - I feel the litter pain. We ave an access path that runs up the side of my neighbour's house and long the back of our terrace. No one is really sure whose land it is or who is in charge so it's a bit overgrown and looks messy. People chuck litter there and let their dogs to teir business. Us and the neighbours sort of take it in turns to hack back some of the weeds if we struggling to get the bins down it but i think because it's not anyone's direct responsibilty, we all neglect it a bit. I have decided to take charge and went at it a bit yesterday and planted out some hollyhocks that I had knocking about and a self seeded foxglove. I'm going to gradually improve it and I think everyone will get on board and help out. We have really nice neighbours on the whole row of houses.
So yeh, we've had a few very non-dfw days but it's almost been a little staycation and a nice slice of normality and we've really enjoyed it. We went up to nice local seaside promenade on thurs night and had fancy ice-cream/yogtail things and a walk in the sunshine. Then on Friday i managed to book us into a restaurant spur of the moment. This restaurant is right on the estuary. It has a terrace that juts out into the marshes and does lovely seafood and mediterranean food. We managed to get booked in onto the terrace and it was suprisingly quiet. We had a really nice meal and the weather was perfect. It was like being abroad.
Then yesterday we'd booked a 2 hours slot in the pub. It's a new pub that unfortunately for them opened just before lockdown. it's a very hipster craft beer type place, but OH and I probably are hipsters and we like craft beer, so we'll just embrace it
Pub was a little bit small for really good social distancing but the whole of the front of the pub was opened up and we were sat near the doors. Some of the beer was very strong. I didn't have too much luckily but OH had 1 normal strength and two very strong beers and was p!ss3d as a newt by the time we left at 7. Treated him to a couple of beers to take home (lots of fancy cans for sale). Also picked up a couple for our neighbour has he keeps leaving fancy beer on the wall for OH. When we got home, neighbours were in their garden, so they popped round to our garden for a chat. Then the other next door neighbour popped her head over with a bag of cooking apples for me so we invited them over too. All sat out til about 11pm and had a very nice time.
Forgot to add that I also got my eyebrows done (finally!) and she's done a LOVELY job. I messaged the beauticians again later to pass on my thanks. Also had a good gab to my friend for about 40 mins. And in other news, finally admitted defeat on the terrible hair roots and messaged the hairdresser about doing something else. I was quite happy to pay but they are going to sort it for free!
So today, I am going to be sorting the budget sheet (damage report!!) and then OH and I are going to see about buying my scooter and how I get riding!
Although, I think it will be a slow start... OH is still sleeping off that beer and wasn't even interested in seeing a woodpecker in the garden
I also need to nip to the allotment and check the courgettes. Would you believe, that after moving all that blimming stuff bit by bit, we are allowed bonfires again?! I tried to light the chimnea last night at home but all the wood was damp and I smoked everyone hahahaha. I still stink of it.
Other than that, need to process the apples quickly so I can deal with them another day and send jam back to the neighbours.
Have a lovely day all

Hi August Austerity Fans,A blessed day off. Me and DW are weathering the current 'storm', thank-you.Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Six:
Checked online banking.
Alarm clock off at the wall during day time.Turn off Wifi box when not using it.Cancelled one online streaming company as the films on offer are poor, started free trial with another company. As I now work for a different company (same role, same site) my 'old' workwear is redundant. So I bought an iron-on patch to cover up the logo and turn it into some personal wear. Except I didn't know how to "iron it on" so I had to Google it. 😂 😂 😂 The patch says "BAD DECISIONS MAKE GOOD STORIES' which sums up my life. I bought it from Etsy.Do some online voluntary work.Try to finish reading a book I started weeks ago.

My day has nearly gone but I've done a few DFW bits:
- Moved money to saver
- used up some almost-over tomatoes on my cheese on toast
- Seen a friend over a cup of tea (free, I made and took with me)
- called my mum and grandma
- cleaned the kitchen
- done some more knitting.
This evening I'm going to watch the F1 highlights, batch-cook some dinner so I can take to work next week, do some more knitting and create a budget for next week.
@carrielovesfanta sounds like a lovely few days! I wish I felt brave enough to go to the pub at the minute, I really miss my old haunts.
