Morning everyone! Another sunny day, although thankfully it's not meant to be as hot here today as it was yesterday.
My action plan:
🌞Move yesterday's left over allowance into savings (done).
🌞Cancel my Share-save scheme with my employer which I started last year, to buy into a better deal this year.
🌞Read a few more chapters of my book - my plan is to finish it this week!
🌞Check the fridge for dinner ideas.
🌞Read a new blog I've found on money saving for inspiration.
🌞Cancel a subscription to an app. Signed up for a free 7 day trial to get the "premium" option but it's really not worth it.
🌞I might, might, MIGHT go and do some overtime at work this evening for a few hours. It's triple pay, I have nowhere to go or anyone to hang out with, and I have Friday - Sunday off to recover (so at least it's not like I'm doing all that overtime after my shift and wearing myself out).Save £12k in 2022 = £3705.97/ £7,500 (49%)

Today I have rehomed a number of bottles and jars from my dd ready to make elderberry cordial in a few weeks 😊 I love it hot during the winter on cold nights next to a roaring fire...❤ I have loads of elder in my garden and missed the opportunity to take the flowers this year so have lots of berries to do!! I'm going to pick as many as possible and freeze/dehydrate the surplus so that I can make more throughout the year - won't have to buy any cordials then 😉 I also had a number of 'almost empty' bottles hanging around in cupboards and the fridge - I put them all in a pan, swished the bottles out with a tiny bit of water and added that, mixed it all together, heated it and it is being used as a marinade for some tofu. The bottles are being re-purposed for the cordial and flavoured vinegars 😉

Hi am not doing much today as am turning into a night creature: went for a long walk last night after late dinner, then went for a swim and a bike ride first thing this morning. Then cleaned kitchen from last night oops.
Am now thinking about putting some clothes away after having a nap!
So not much happening.
Dinner will be left overs from last night or just roasted vegetables from fridge.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Hi all,
I am back to my DF ways after some extravagant days in the last few months :-).
I have meals planned for the week and bought in what I need. Of course I have had to change it all as it is too blooming hot, but I'm basing meals on what I have in. In the past I would meal plan for the month, but I'll wait till September to start that again.
I did my finances earlier so I know how much I have left to spend for the month, and have a budget for petrol, food and pocket money. All the pet food is bought already, and my cupboards are pretty full so its quite likely I'll come in under for food for the month. I should also be able to claim back a fair bit in travel for work so my petrol money will reappear next month.
Spending wise this week I have ordered a metal watering can (as my dog chewed my other one - not strictly necessary as I have a jug but I ordered it before I went back to my frugal ways) and a pair of waterproof trousers for dog walking which I got for a tenner and are necessary for the bad weather.
When I have time this weekend I need to think about collecting some of the glut of plums that are everywhere around me and decide what I can make with them. I could also think about making rose-hip syrup, and elderberry cordial, and perhaps some bramble jam. I love this time of year in nature. It like walking out into a story book with wild harvests ripe and juicy everywhere.
I think the only things I need to buy this week are milk, and possibly some more sugar if I make jam. I'm out on Saturday but its a birthday treat so I don't think I'll need to pay for anything (its a surprise so I have no idea what we are doing!).
It is good to be back to a routine and getting things organised again. My original debt free date is probably out the window, but I'll see where I am at the end of the year and take it from there.Live the good life where you have been planted.

Today I have/will:
1. Checked online banking
2. Meals from stores
3. Picked brother up from work as he had a car accident 2 days ago. Not liking getting up at 5.30
4. Check pmp, win a dinner
5. Check for surveys
6. Start organising gym bag as my gym is reopening on Monday. Need to get back to physio exercises especially as I had a knee surgery cancelled because of Covid. Also fell in shower on second day of lockdown and landed on the screws in my leg.
7. Read free book

This is the only thing I didn't do yesterday, and so is being carried over into today.delta13 said:🌞Cancel my Share-save scheme with my employer which I started last year, to buy into a better deal this year.
Also on my to-do list:
🌞move left over allowance into savings (done).
🌞put a white wash on, and hang out to dry (done).
🌞start a new book (I finished Motherwell yesterday, hurrah) - I'm thinking fiction this time to mix things up.
🌞check fridge for lunch/ maybe dinner ideas. I want to use up as much of the fresh stuff as possible before I go to the supermarket, which is likely going to have to be today or tomorrow.
🌞prepare shopping list so I don't deviate into "wants" rather than "needs".
🌞go to the park whilst the weather permits!

Morning folks!
Not much to report from yesterday. I worked from home as I had my first call with the counselor from Able Futures. Quite nice to have a bit of a rant at someone without anyone getting defensive tbh, although it probably sounded like I was having a pity party. Made good progress on the project I'm on then drove up to nearby seaside town (longest I've driven so far and I went at 60mph!) and has a yogtail thing. def would only get a small size next time as we were both stuffed with ice cream afterwards.
Been for an early gym session today. Vile three course combo of a 1km row to start, a main course of 50 thrusters (a front squat then popping up into a press overhead) followed by a dessert of 30 burpees. I feel like my arms and legs don't belong to me now. I really had to grind all that out
Today's things are as usual. OH picking up the food for the week, I'm working. Gotta knuckle down and write this report.
Have a good one all

Morning all
Didn't get to post yesterday, not sure why. One of those days that slips by in a flash.Managed to walk the dog before it started to rain this morning, but he wouldn't go far - must have had some advance knowledge of the weather forecast
Popped out afterwards with my litter picker and a bag and removed litter that had appeared overnight on the verge in front of our terrace
If I, and other neighbours didn't do this every few days, it would be necessary to wade through it knee deep. The joys of living on a through road. This time it was fast food packaging from that unaccountably popular place that does flabby white buns enclosing burgers that look like something scraped off the bottom of someone's shoe, chucked out of a passing car
I really dislike litter, the companies that produce such an excess of it, and the people who throw it down. Either such morons that they don't even think about the environment that we all have to live in, or so entitled that they think someone else ought to come along behind and clear up after them. Apologies for rant, but grrr!On a brighter note, picked a big handful of raspberries to have with my muesli
Just put a lamb and veg curry in the SC. Used up various bits from the fridge and freezer, including some of the tomato mountain, and some frozen lamb stock and leftover lamb gravy. Starting to smell lovely. There will be enough for 2 meals for both of us, plus a portion for the freezer I reckon. Got some HM flatbreads out of the freezer to go with it.Other plans:Make some scones as it is no longer too hot to have the oven on!Check banks, update spreadsheet and pay the milk bill online. Some housework - plenty to choose from.Hope everyone is having a good day, and not getting too wet.

Completed everything on my list yesterday. Really enjoying this thread as its helping me reflect on my day and what I can do to be more savvy with my money whilst still having a good quality of life.
Today is going to be day one of plan "purposefully getting myself into debt" - I've started looking at purchasing a house. I've been looking at what's for sale for about a year (to get a rough idea of how much I need to save for a deposit) and now I've got a fairly comfortable amount saved I'm going to start searching in earnest
Today's list:
⛅Money into savings (done)
⛅Check with different banks if I'm eligible for an Agreement in Principle (one done)
⛅Finish off shopping list
⛅Complete weekly food shop
⛅Read some chapters of my book
⛅Make plans to meet my friend tomorrow
⛅One-pot vegetarian pasta for dinner, making enough for left overs for lunch over the weekend
⛅Research resale value of some of my unwanted items are, to sell on Eb*y
⛅Start knitting Christmas presents ready ( I ALWAYS leave it too late and it's a mad scramble to get the socks/ scarves/ whatever finished in time. Last year I was still knitting on Christmas eve!)
