Morning folks
I'm a day late... quick post and then I'll catch up. Thanks to @PurpleFairy26 for starting us off.
Blimey it's hot. I've just been sitting in the office melting away. Not much mse stuff today
B/L/D from stores
Check PMP
Get OH to fix the cupboard door as it came off in my hand this morning?! Hinge appears to have detached itself.
OH to do the housework
Possibly go for a walk/allotment later while OH at the gym, depending on the weather.
Bit of crochet. I want to finish a present so I can start a use-it-up Sophie's universe!
Have a good one all

It was the same where I was. Despite the thunder storms it was still hot overnight and it's the same today! I live in a first floor flat so can't open any doors but I've opened every window I can this morning!PurpleFairy26 said:Hello @smushesma and @delta13 lovely to see newbies on the thread. Stick with us 😀
I slept ok despite the heat but yesterday afternoon was unbearable. No sun. Just muggyness.... appears more of the same this morning. Have opened the back doors to let in some air which will hopefully make a difference.
Today's list:
🌞Move "allowance" into savings. ✅
🌞Use last night's left over mash to make a mini bubble and squeak for lunch.
🌞Use left over puff pastry and odd bits of veg to make some mini spiced veg and lentil pies for dinner, plus extra incase of picnics. I have some home made raita that will go with them.
🌞Go for a hill walk this afternoon across the river, and meet my housemate at her work during her afternoon break - cheap, some exercise, free cup of tea/ drink.
🌞Read a few chapters of a book I have going, before thinking of starting or buying another (Motherwell: A Girlhood by Deborah Orr - has anyone read it?)

Hi all absolutely messed up last night picking ds up from the airport, went into the wrong parking and boom £8 and no chance to back out, instead of going to the free blue one. So I tried, but obviously I didn't really check the info on their website just what ever dated stuff was on google.
Today I will enjoy having a day off, cook a nice dinner, was going to say pizza, but I'm not turning the oven on this week!
SO I think it's fajita day!
Have a nice Tuesday, and I have a nice survey waiting to be done hopefully it will not have run out by the time I get to it.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

One load of laundry on the line again today! 🙌 I'm pretty amazed with myself! 😂
We'll have last night's leftovers for dinner tonight - the kids had some leftover rice which they were going to throw out so I rescued it and flavoured it to use instead of cooking buckwheat so saved on both material and energy there! 😊 Enough left for a small dinner for 2 as we aren't eating as much due to the heat 😩
Hope everyone has a good day 😊5 -
Good afternoon all,
Another hot day (and still a bit like groundhog day)
Todays list
* check banking/update spreadsheet
* wash a load on the quick wash and hang out to dry on the line for free
* run the dishwasher on the quick wash
* triage the fridges and make sure nothing is going to waste
* all meals from stores
* rm surveys
* bit more work in the garage - broke up a few bits that I could then fit into the black bags for bin day tomorrow
* cut the grass & pull out some brambles
* walk and talk for an hour with my parents.
* update click and collect shop for tomorrow as my dad brought me a great cheap veg box from lidl this morning so I can knock quite a few bits off for this week.
Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning all
More hot weather forecast and no sign of rain / storms. According to the BBC weather app, there is a less than 50% chance of rain over the next couple of days. Early morning dog walk done. Now determined to get some things done this morning before it gets unbearable:Freezer reorganisation - need to free up space for French beans plus the flatbreads I made, and look for a couple of things. DoneWhizzed the end of a loaf in the processor and made breadcrumbs. Saves waste, and it makes a nice topping for all kinds of savoury dishes, with a grating of parmesan and / or some chopped herbs - or the base for an old fashioned, yummy but not diet friendly dessert called Queen of Puddings, or treacle tarts etc.Top and tail, chop, blanch and freeze French beans - I picked a carrier bag full last night. Thought I would freeze this batch and inflict further ones on the neighbours
Done, blanched, frozen on trays so they don't freeze into hard lumps. Will bag up later.Do something with the chicken breast I have defrosted - was thinking tarragon chicken but not if I can't find mushrooms in the freezer... Found some mushrooms, gave the tarragon a haircut - it looks so pretty growing up through flowering lavender - made the tarragon chicken, enough for 2 meals for the 2 of us
Sort fridge out while I am at it. DoneRoast a batch of very ripe tomatoes Added garlic, salt and pepper and splash of olive oil, roasted till collapsed and skins starting to singe a bit, then put the lot through the mouli / sieve thing. Skins and seeds now in compost, roasted tomato sauce in freezer
Pick whatever is ready in the garden Not yet, too hotWatering later, unless by some miracle it rains, then I would only need to do the pots. At least this is a task that is bearable in the heat!Right, coffee to drink then get on. Hope everyone has a good day

Morning folks
@ditty1234 - well done to your DS!
@DawnW - same here although it might well rain overnight. Bit gutted as I was hoping to look for the perseids.
Going to be hot here. I dived into a nice early 6am gym session. nice to get it done and dusted in the cooler temps. OH did one at 6.30pm last night and you could have wrung him out.
In good news, I have finally cleared the pile of waste from the berm at the allotment! Now we need to dig over and weed the section that was under the pile and then look at how we're going to landscape the back section. It feels good to have finally got through that bit.
Not much doing today. Need to knuckle down in work. Other than that, just the usual of PMP, dinner from stores etc. I need to start putting together next week's meal plan too.
Have a good one all
