I've tried to post a copy of my last bill but the forum won't let me post it.....
    Billing 3rd July - 2nd August Units used 1393.74 kWh - Energy use charge 1393.74 kWh @ 2.73p £38.05
    Does that help?
You should have the gas meter readings on the bill, it is those that we need so we can check the conversion from metered units to kWh...
... and that is a crazy amount of gas to be using at this time of year, so something doesn't look right.
    Do you cook using gas?

    If you're paying 2.73p + VAT = 2.8665‬p/kWh, that's an expensive gas tariff.

That is a crazy amount, we used 524kWh during almost the same period and we're heating up a 300 litre tank twice a day.  And the heating kicked in briefly overnight in early July when we had some cold nights.

Can you post the associated meter readings?

We moved from a 4 bed detached last year and looking back over the years 2014-2019 we used around 4500kwh of electric and between 12000-14000kwh gas per year. We are 2 adults only & we had gas central heating and showers, solar thermal for hot water in the summer so the boiler was off for months. Even now, with no gas and needing electricity for heating water, we use 10kwh per day averaged over the last 8 months. HTH

... The gas fire is often on in the evenings in winter too.
This could be another reason for the high gas use. Gas fire's are very inefficient. Most of the heat goes up the chimney/flue. From past experience you can heat a whole house with Central Heating for the same or less cost than using a Gas fire to heat one room.

I agree your gas consumption definitely does need investigating. 30th June - 31st July we used 355kWh of gas. 3 adults in a 4-bed, mid-terrace. Combi boiler for heating, hot water + gas hob.

Looking at my bills, a lot of the meter reading have been estimated in recent months - I think OVO changed their system & I stopped getting the email  reminders.
The last few gas meter reading are as follows:-
    24/2/20 60534 given
    26/3/20 60902 given
    4/4/20 60993 estimated
    25/4/20 61128 given
    3/5/20 61181 estimated
    3/6/20 61321 estimated
    3/7/20 61405 estimated
    22/7/20 61506 given
    3/8/20 61531 estimated
    9/8/20 61550 given
I'm really concerned and stressed about all of this :(

Getting stressed about it isn't going to help anything. The estimated readings are not that far off the readings you have given so there is no problem there, you just need to discover why you are using so much gas.

Do you have a combi boiler or a separate hot water tank? If the latter for how many hours a day are you heating the hot water?

Thanks for the numbers, sadly there is no mistake there from the looks of things.
If we just take your last two actual readings:
    22/7/20 61506 given
    9/8/20 61550 given
That is 44m3 used or approx. 493kWh over 18 days, which is a little over 27kWh per day.
This time of year you'd expect to see water heating only consuming around 10kWh /day.
Are you also cooking with gas?
