I was intrigued about where Volvo put their fuse boxes that make them so hard to find, so had a look at Volvo's website.  The current XC60 has one in the footwell and one in the engine compartment.  It's explained in the user manual.

They even include a small pair of tweezers to make it easy to replace the fuses.

What's so hard about that?

Here is the footwell, the little door is the SIM holder, no fuses in sight.

That is weird.  Although that's also the wrong footwell.  The manual shows it being the right-hand one.

I know enough about electronics/electrics to know my own limitations, and won't be fiddling with fuses on a brand new car.

To start with I'll reinstall my wife's current dash cam into the socket and just tuck the cable away. Yes, I do want to save money, but don't want to cause any damage to a brand new car in order to save £35.
