I understand from  some reading on the various Volvo forums that dashcams with WIFI can interfere with the sensors in the centre of some Volvo windscreens especially if you have Intellisafe.  There is a minimum distance your camera should be from the sensors and WIFI cameras are not recommended.

AIUI if both the car and dashcam are fully compliant with the emissions directives, there should be no possibility of interference.
The Volvo will have been tested to death, so that leaves the dashcam as prime suspect.  If it is a reputable make, then its manufacturer has a problem.  On the other hand, if it cost £15 on eBay ....

No, I want it hard wired behind the dash as I need the socket for other things. I self installed my wife's current one - it looks ok but she's not happy with it and the socket gets in the way. I had mine done by Toyota and it looks so much better.

I'm not going to mess around with wiring on a new car myself - after reading the Volvo owners club forum I'm wondering whether I should be letting anyone else do that either!
Yes, I did mine fully hardwired kit from ebay less than a tenner. No messing about with wiring, just plug into fuse socket.  If halfords can do it, you can do it. Paying someone else is not MSE.
Good luck finding the fuses on a Volvo! I connected mine to the back of the lighter socket, which is easier to get to, all with spade connectors so I just pull it off if no longer required. You just need a 12v to usb thingy from eBay or Amazon.
That was what I was wondering - might give a few companies a call tomorrow about Volvo installs and see if I get good or bad vibes.

To be honest, I don't need anything more than what you've done. If it was my car then I would probably just have a go - I just don't trust myself with the wife's brand new car!

I guess I should check the Volvo warranty small print to make sure I'm not invalidating anything with the install...

Halfords did a good job installing mine.  Wired it into the fuse box.

Read the user manual, it'll tell you where the fuse box is.

Agree its likely Volvo are just being cautious. However, I have just acquired an almost new Volvo that is bristling with sensors all round.  After reading up a bit Im not going to reinstall my existing Wifi camera and look for something reputable but without wifi and bluetooth that is also small enough to go to the side somewhere.
The parking camera pointing forward has a pretty good view,  its a shame that cant be enabled to record all the time.

I connected my Nextbase to my V60 easy enough. There's a handy fuse box underneath the glove box to piggy back in to. Never had an issue with it.
