You do know that when you die you can pass on your share allocation?
▶ Your shares in the cooperative are “withdrawable” but not transferable. This means you cannot sell your shares directly to someone else, but the cooperative can buy them back from you, according to a policy set by the cooperative board. If you die your shares can, however, easily be transferred to someone else.
So your heir(s) as in your will. I assume. Maybe worth nothing but if I die in a month maybe worth something0 -

You may be able to get insulation fitted free. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/free-cavity-loft-insulation/This is money I could spend on other FF reduction (e.g more home insulation) I don't have limiteless pot sadly.

Ripple's website allows you to nominate a beneficiary. I presume a will would override that nomination but a will is not required, it's similar to pension funds nomination.

For anyone that is interested and hasn't already found the information, there is something called the Embedded Capacity Register that lists all connected and accepted to connect schemes. It is hosted by the relevant DNO. According to the ECR, Derril water is 32.2MW, it secured its grid connection in July 2020 and has a target energisation June 2024 (and it's a solar farm, but I know you already know that!

I understand from Ripple that more shares in Kirk Hill from members withdrawing will be released to those on the waiting list after the current solar power share offer is completed, so still worth waiting if you want shares in the co-op which owns the Kirk Hill wind farm.

I imagine the waiting list would still be bigger than the amount of shares that get released, but I can't see that there's anywhere to even join it.
Is it only for existing Kirk Hill Co-op Members?

With Kirk Hill, the Ripple website had a running total of the % uptake. Is there anything like that for Derril Water? If so, where?4.3kW PV, 3.6kW inverter. Octopus Agile import, gas Tracker. Zoe. Ripple x 3. Cheshire0

Interesting video (albeit slightly negative) on the Ripple solar farm offering from the EV Puzzle, a keen solar and EV advocate.
