Incorrect EON markers on credit report stopping a mortgage

Hi All,
I am currently trying to get a mortgage and the mortgage company will not complete a full assessment due to markers from EON on my credit report. I was not aware of these markers as I have never missed a payment to EON.
Since downloading my credit report I have found a number of markers on my credit file from EON. These vary from 2 late payment from 3 months ago to 6 late payment last year. I was unaware of these on my report and this is considerably dragging down my score.
Since finding these markers I have contacted EON on numerous occasions and all staff members have agreed that I have never missed a payment and that EON are incorrect. They have passed me onto a resolution manager who has now told me that they will not be removing the markers as I should have increased my monthly payment. This is stopping me from getting a mortgage and is extremely distressing as I have never missed a payment to EON and never once received a letter from them regarding this.

I have paid £100 a month for a small 3 bed house for over 2 and half years and never missed 1 payment. The most recent markers on my report are for March 2020, yet April, May, June, July 2020 do not show markers. I have never paid anymore money, therefore what I can’t understand is why wasn’t there markers on the other months. I have had a payment plan in place with EON since moving into the property over 2 years ago.
Has anyone else had any issues regarding the removal of markers from EON? I have made on average 3 calls a week for 3 weeks, all lasting an hour. Sometimes EON representatives will hang up on me. I have tried to log a complaint 3 time’s, however when I call back up the complaint hasn’t been logged. I have contacted citizen advice to help me however they are back logged due to COVID and I am going to lose the opportunity to purchase my new house. I have already paid £400 to solicitors and £200 to mortgage company and I will also lose this due to these markers.

How were you making the payments. I'm assuming not by Direct Debit.1

You can raise an official dispute with EON but that will take a while to conclude so chances are you are going to lose this house because as it stands you are extremely unlikely to get a mortgage with missed payments indicated on your credit file for this year.
This highlights just how important it is to check your credit file on a regular basis so that you can spot any issues like this long before they become a major problem and long before you apply for any major credit like a mortgage.1 -

I have always checked Experian and Clear Score and my credit score has always been and is still EXCELLENT. Why would you think to seek a service like Equifax if your score is excellent and you have NEVER missed a bill, direct debit or standing order payment? I still don’t understand how my score can be excellent on Experian, yet poor and showing markers on Equifax. If you know the answer to this, that would also be great!0 -

Eon should be reporting the same information to all the credit reference agencies that they report too. They can't report different information to different agencies.
I assume that EON do no report to Experian and that the EON accounts do not appear on Experian and Clearscore? Which would explain why you have better "credit scores" with these two sites.
Always check all three credit reference agencies as not all account providers report to all three agencies.
This is a bit after the horse has bolted of course now and it is a it late for this advice. Have you had an explanation as to why the dispute has been declined? Only EON can remove the markers and they clearly believe that there has been a problem with payments on your account.
What is your payment due date and what date does your direct debit come out of your account?1 -

As far as I'm aware Clear Score uses Equifax, so I can't see how it wouldn't be showing the same information?1 -

If I had accumulated 'dept' due to not paying enough each month, why would I not have received any letters? also how come April, May, June, July 2020 do not hold late markers, yet I have never paid anymore than the direct debit amount.0 -

EON have said I should have increased my monthly payments, however I have had no letters to say the amount I was paying was insufficient. Do EON not automatically increase payments if not sufficient as I am sure other companies have done this in the past?
These markers are for March 2020 and as you are aware this was the main hit of COVID. I did call EON regarding readings in March and I remember speaking to an EON representative and they told me my current payment plan was still fine.
My EON payment comes out the 1st of every month.0
