    Thank you everyone who gave advice and support but after these comments I am going to leave this here as I already felt like an idiot but feel like even more of one now. 
    I'm curious as to why you've categorised my comment (which could possibly be helpful to someone else in a similar position who might be deterred from buying an unsuitable car) along with one which is clearly thoughtless and insulting? You've received lots of good advice on here which should help you.
