Hello Everyone,
I brought a Peugeot 207 2008, automatic, 6 weeks ago, I understand the car is old but firstly I noticed that the car would click when turning, fine, I got this repaired and now whilst driving on a country lane today I slowed down to let a car go past and the car completely cut out and wouldn't start, I then had to walk 45 mins to get phone signal, I then tried the car again and it worked, so I drove it back to where I was staying 7 miles later I am slowing down at a light and again it cuts outs before I have even stopped, what could this be? Do you think this could be a reason to refuse the car because it is faulty? I am disabled so I need a reliable car.

A 12 yo car will not be reliably reliable so to speak.

If it’s 6 weeks ago you’re beyond the 30 day reject I would imagine.

What have the garage where you bought it said?

Did the car come with any form of warranty? Service history? Length of MOT? Mileage?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

So Halfords said that its probably the fuel injectors, but they don't deal with them, I called the dealership I brought it from and they said that they sold it as seen they won't do anything, however coming from a consumer rights act point of view, do you think I should pursue going down this route to either get a repair or my money back? Thank you for all the advice so far.

They have said no warranty, the mot was done on the same day (dodgy mot) 60.000 miles.

So, you bought a 12 y/o car without even knowing if it had any form of dealer or insurance-based warranty on it? That was rather unwise of you.
No, it was not 'sold as seen'. The dealer is talking nonsense. CRA 2015 does apply to used car sales from a dealer, but that does not mean that a 12 y/o car can be expected to be in perfect condition or run for years more without spares or maintenance being required. What matters more in this case is how the vehicle was described, and what questions you asked about it's condition and service history. So far you've not told us anything about that. Only if the dealer mis-described the vehicle do you have any kind of case. Did he say, for example 'this car is in tip-top mechanical order, you will have no issues with it'? Did you ask if he was aware of any known faults? When was the vehicle last serviced?
Unfortunately, with just 60K on the clock after 12 years, the car is very likely to have been used for short urban shopping trips, which will have taken their toll on the transmission and brakes, and possibly the engine too, as it won't always get up to normal operating temperature.
Why do you say that the MOT was 'dodgy'? The MOT test is a very basic mechanical safety check which certainly does not check the injectors and fuelling system (although it does measure the emissions).
You are not going to get proper advice from either a Peugeot dealer or Halfords (the latter are for fixing bikes, and they don't even do that very well). Find your local independent Peugeot specialist and get them to check it over for you.

Could try putting some V Power and a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank then driving around holding the gearbox in a low gear for an hour or so.

If that works then continue using decent fuel and you should be OK.

A 12 year old car can be less reliable, equally reliable or more reliable than a far newer one. It all depends on the car and the history of the vehicle and how it's been maintained.
I've owned quite a few cars that have been well in excess of 12 years old by the time that I got rid of them and I've never had an unreliable one.
About 6 months ago, my next door neighbour spent a small fortune on a 18 month old Range Rover Evoque and this has already broken down more times than my 10 year old Ford Focus has.
