Tenents moved out of our place on the 29th, I took the final reading and gave it to my new supplier. Now, at the end of the month I get a demand from NPower claiming I owe this money to them. I've not used Npower and I have no idea what our tenants were on. Anyone?

Presumably they were with nPower - send the bill to your old tenants (or keep it back from their deposit)
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

What dates are they claiming it covers?

There aren't any dates, except the 29th of July...

The fact the OPs tenants left on the 29th, and that letter dated the 29th suggests there was a bill 7 days previous, does suggest it had been in the name of the OP for some time.

Could it be that Avro screwed up my switch? AFAIK, tenants cancelled their supply for the 29th of May. This house has been tenanted for 5 years!
