I have flights to Spain booked for next weekend but cannot go because of the home office advice against flying and the quarantine on return. Ryanair are still flying so they won’t refund me. Can I get the money back for the unused flights ? Thanks.

Dont wonder for too long, given the flight hasnt been cancelled Ryanair have fulfilled their contractual obligation and any credit card chargeback will rightly fail.dc540 said:

We are in the same position. Due to fly 11/8/20 booked Oct 19 - if we travel no insurance and can't claim on insurance cause not cancelled. Will cost as much as flights are now to re-book. There will be many more like us. I wouldn't know where to start but we should collectively fight this. They will be making millions on others hard work.0

Fight what? Your reluctance to fly?
As said about 100 times on this forum the last week or so, there are plenty of people who are willing to travel, or need to travel, not to mention people going home to Spain. Your insurance situation and FCO advice is none of their concern.0 -
Thought this was supposed to be a helpful forum. We are desperate to go on this trip but for the safety of my family and following government advice we should not fly and our insurance would be voided (yes it would cover if FCO was not in place). I was just looking for support and advice to see if it were possible (as a group) to try and persuade Ryanair to allow us to change booking for free rather, not even looking for money back.bradders1983 said:Fight what? People can only help if there is actually any help to give.
If you want to try and contact Ryanair and appeal to their better nature, good luck as they dont have a better nature.0 -
Ryanair at the best of times have little to none in terms of generosity... now, well you have no chance.
In this instance they hadn’t done anything wrong, disinclination to travel is just that doesn’t matter what the reason is behind it. I’m sorry that’s not the response you were after but it’s the correct one I’m afraid.2 -
How are Ryanair 'making millions' if you choose not to show for a seat you have booked? They'll save a bit on fuel load and that's it. There is nothing to 'fight'. The flight is available, you are choosing not to travel for reasons entirely outside of the carrier's control.jryan74 said:We are in the same position.
