That's the second time you've said goodbye to holly in this thread, what's the deal with that?

I dont know its people like this that ruins it for others.
  • But what about the conception of the super shopping malls in big cities like Manchester. I doubt a person would go there to buy one item. They would make the trip viable and end up purchasing a car boot full.
I certainly would go to a mall just to buy one item (in fact, I very recently went to Bluewater in Kent to buy a jacket) and I didn't come back with a boot full of stuff.

Not rare in the slightest. I'd often make a special trip into town if I was looking for something specific, particular if I needed to try something for size, which no doubt is why @shaun_from_Africa made his trip.

If it's something that I know will be suitable and definitely won't have to be returned then I usually order online when possible.
However, when it comes to clothing that has to be tried for size and general fit, I've always preferred to browse in a shop and look at and if needed, try on different sizes and similar items from various ranges.

I wouldn't say that it's particularly unusual for people to shop this way. If it was, why are many high street clothing stores often so busy?

Holly, I think you need to accept that what you heard is not right, at least most of the time for the people here

Some people just don’t understand the complexity, beauty and efficiency of good logistics
Spot on.  The logistics industry is very highly developed, very highly competitive and very highly innovative.
Any company trying to operate in the way that the OP seems to believe wouldn't last five minutes.

    Indeed.
I think it's hard to believe (I personally wouldn't have used used the word 'incredible but I'm not arguing over your use of it :)) that someone would think that "they don't sort the parcels and they get put into random vans that have a delivery route that covers the entire country..." but the poster I quoted certainly seems to think that the OP does actually think that.
I was just querying whether someone could actually think that's really how courier companies work.

How can you make a sweeping statement like that when most people know that facts can at be stranger than fiction, or as assumptions in your case.  I'm not going to hold your hand and educate you by an excellent narrative is when some young children were asked where does the milk come from and many thought it was the "shops."

I didn't make any sweeping statement.
    I didn't make any assumption.
I was just asking a question (and it wasn't "where does milk come from"?) :)
