FYI Halifax DC to YBS on statements.

Up to 20 March my DC deposits showed as paid to Yorkshire Ecom
From 21 March, they showed as paid to Yorkshire BS.
Would this change the 'type of transaction' and therefore make them ineligible for the Reward Tracker?

Same here, however if you check the type it’s the same “DEB”, which I think is the important part as it’s a the type of transaction that counts not who you pay it too?
I had to use the website couldn’t get the transaction type from app. Tracked in my rewards as well.

edit - in the app hit the download statement icon for April it give the type as DEB which is short for debit card.

Revolut have cracked the whip for me with the Halifax £500. I signed up to Skipton just now. Is there any other methods where I can top up £500 momentarily? Thanks
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"

Skipton has previously sent 'cease and desist' letters to those exploiting its debit card deposit functionality. NS&I is probably the safest option as it's state-owned, and I don't think anyone has ever reported problems (other than the week-long wait before funds can be withdrawn).

Did Revolut close your account without warning?

Annoying. I've been using Revolut in exactly this way for 6 months, got held in month 1 but released after an exchange by chat.

What did Revolut's whip-cracking consist of? Did they bounce the payment or issue an email warning? Something else?

I don't think there's any reports of YBS objecting to this yet, though they'd be well within their right to.

NS&I are (I think) trying to move away from debit card pay ins completely but until they do there's probably not much they can do to stop you.

YBS objected to me twice: once initially when it was deemed unusual behaviour; the second time, months later, just because, despite the established pattern of behaviour. Each time they blocked the withdrawal for review. I didn't allow it to happen a third time.

I wonder what they’ll move to - I can’t fully remember, but I’m pretty sure when I opened my direct saver they insisted on a debit card deposit. Perhaps they’ll continue to require them for first deposits, and then require faster payments etc. for subsequent deposits.

With regards to YBS, one option is to utilise their reg saver which allows a max monthly deposit of £500. Which is a legitimate use of debit card

Don't think that YBS have a RS available at the moment.
