Money Moral Dilemma: Is it wrong to use staff discount after I've quit?

You know it's wrong. If you were certain it was right, you wouldn't be asking. What does your conscience tell you?1

It's you who have to sleep with your conscience at night, and it's you who would have to face any (however unlikely) repercussions! Is that 20% discount really worth it?1
-
On the one hand it is wrong and it probably was in your contract T&Cs that all employee benefits are contingent upon you being an employee. On the flipside, many would view it as a "victimless" crime and very low down on the list of heinous wrongs against humanity.1

If the company had an issue they wouldn't sell to you and would remove/change the discount code regularly. They get revenue (undoubtedly at a profit), you get cheaper than normal stuff. No problem whatsoever.3

It is a STAFF discount. You are no longer STAFF. So you should notify your ex employer that it still works for you and apologise for using it. Hopefully they wont make you repay the discount you have received but weren't entitled to.That may seem 'self righteous' to some but I prefer to consider it just to be 'honest'!0

I'm sure some won't believe me but once left it wouldn't occur to use a staff discount.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Well you could always ask them if it's okay to continue to use the discount/free delivery because I think that if they didn't want you to use it, they would have crossed your name off the list and blocked you. It seems they haven't.
So, without being judgemental (and have all the people on here who are being so very judgemental never, ever, done anything a tad questionable? Really??), I say just ask your ex employer. You may or may not lose those privileges but at least your conscience will be clear. And then (but only then, mind you) you will be able to hold your head up high and be an honest chap, just like the rest of us on here. (ha ha ha)
P.S. You're also buying stuff from them, so I'm sure they're happy about that. Loyalty is worth a lot these days. Mutually beneficial, what have they got to moan about?!Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. I agree with your friend, the Company will be happy they're making a sale.1

If it feels dishonest then it might well be, but here’s some food for thought for you. Without this temporary discount loophole (they’ll notice it and cancel it sooner or later) You’d likely ask the mate still working there to still buy you things with his or her discount Anyway; and how is that any different?1

I think it's really sad to read all the comments from people agreeing that it's OK to take this discount - it is not. As others have said there are no "degrees of honesty" nor can there be "grey" areas of it. This is clearly a moral issue, and honesty really does have to be only "black or white" for it to work within any civilised society. I think, as others have said, that you know you are doing wrong - so don't listen to others who are clearly not honest themselves but who naively or stupidly still think that they are. Just because there is a body of people out there who think it's OK doesn't make it right. So do the right thing and sleep easy. It is not righteous to have morals, it show your mettle as a human being.1
