Ordered talk talk fibre, given the green light but now it is not available

Hi all,
I'm in the process of moving to a new flat, I ordered talk talk fibre broadband (63-75mb) and was given the green light, i.e property can handle it, good estimated speeds etc.
4 days before the day they are meant to activate it, they advised I cant have fibre broadband and my order is being rejected due to " no DSLAM ports" . They said they would give me normal broadband but cant confirm the speeds (not even an estimate) or tell me how much it will cost.
I feel pretty hard done by for this especially since they have already left a credit check foot print. I have had to do so many credit checks due to moving recently, i dont think it is right that they can do this. Is there anyway to get out of this contract, can they retract the credit check? I want to go with another supplier, but they will have to do another check.

A credit check for a utility isn't anything to worry about.
Try another supplier.0 -
If they are saying no capacity at the cabinet, then presumably it is ‘waiting list’ , and other providers will have the same issue, unless VM is available

It leaves a footprint, but it's not a concern for lenders.
If you mean your score has gone down, that doesn't matter. It's just a gimmick that only you see, and is purely for entertainment purposes. It's not used in credit decisioning.0 -

Soft searches dont affect your credit and are usually only seen by yourself not by prospective lenders etc.
Just out of interest......Where did you decide to instal the green light? 😂0 -
Hi guys, I followed advice and went with another provided: Sky, but it seems to be the same issue.
I was told broadband would be activated on the 5th, it was delayed and then I was told I would have definite activation date on the 17th, today I was told it has changed and I will find out on the 31st. They don't seem to have any idea when it will be implemented and the issue seems to be with open reach. Even if they give me an activation date on the 31st, it still could be months away.
Is there anything else i can do? I find it hard to believe at this day an age i can not get broadband, its not like I live in a rural area or anything. Virgin media is not available where I live though...
I'm meant to be working from home, but I've been staying round friends house for the time being until this is sorted.0 -
