 It was advised by my solicitor. Essentially, if there is a lock down between exchange and completion and the completion cannot happen, the buyer has breach of contract and could be liable for financial penalties.RanP said:

 There was a presenter on Capital Radio years ago, who admitted to having done it.             The bottom line, if some no mark messes me arounf like that, I will tell them where to go via pulling out. Having said that we are in a good position and not everyone is.
