    So my reading is 05619? The readings from when I moved in I found in a pack of documents, as shown below;

    Also confirms that Eon are our provider.

    Those readings are obviously incorrect. Your current gas reading is lower than the supposed opening reading. Maybe that's why they went bust?

    The gas reading was probably 00008.255 cubic metres, with a similar mistake for electricity.

    If that opening read should have been 8cu.metres, that reading now results in an average consumption over 7 years of 9,000 kWh per year of gas, which in a new-build (double glazing, GCH, insulation etc. sounds about right. Depending on the tariff, and with standing charges, say, roughly, £500 p.a.-ish

    00008 sounds more like it. Our opening reading on our new build was very similar 00009 from memory.

    9000 kWh per year of gas sounds like it will be in the right ball park as well. We used 6500 kWh of gas last year in our modestly sized 3 bed detached new build. (Although we expect that to increase this year as it looks like I will be working from home this winter and I ain't sitting in the cold!)

    So apart from getting a reading from the Elec meter, ( I'm surprised the key for the Gas meter cupboard doesn't fit The Elec meter cupboard ), it's all done & dusted and time to contact Eon.

    I'm concerned that Eon have never sent out billing addressed to the 'Occupier', so if there are further problems please report back here
