Yep, everything else is accounted forRobin9 said:
Accepted but even if the electric was reading 000100 that is small fry compared with the 018000 that is will be reading today.brewerdave said:
Not necessarily true; for example in my daughter's new home, the supply had been used whilst they were drying out plaster etc and to power lights and tools, so the readings were not zero on any of the utility meters (including water)Robin9 said:
Your meters will have been reading 000000 when you moved in - what are they now (watch out for the decimal point and ignore figures after the decimal point)
doddleward - are you getting water bills, council tax ?0 -
this may be a daft question, but do you know you're getting billed for the right water meter? I ask, as when we moved into our new build 13 years ago, we got off paying the water for the first 3 months as the water board had mixed up meters on our close, and so tried billing us for someone else's consumption - it was only the fact that I knew it was way more than we as a family used (from previous metered consumption) that it got sorted.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

You may have problems getting through at the moment, but some of the distribution companies have tools on their website to help discover your provider...Do you know which region you are in?This will also help you confirm that your address exists on the national database as if it never got changed from a plot number that might explain the lack of contact from anyone...

Not a daft question at all, we have received water bills throughout our time here, BUT I have never actually managed to locate our water metre. Your message has made me decide that I definitely need to be chasing this up and clarifying as we aren’t at home often compared to the neighbours who are mostly home all day. Thank you for sharingGunJack said:this may be a daft question, but do you know you're getting billed for the right water meter? Thank you. We are in the London and South East, but I just checked on the UK Power Networks website and it says that ESP Utilities are our distributor. Unfortunately I can’t seem to get any more information from their website on whether or not our address is on the database.MWT said:TadleyBaggie said:MWT said:

Your meter will normally be at the back edge of footpath, under a black circulate cover, - perhaps with 3/4 neighbours alongside.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
Found the neighbours but no sign of ours, strangelyRobin9 said:Your meter will normally be at the back edge of footpath, under a black circulate cover, - perhaps with 3/4 neighbours alongside.0 -
You will need to contact ESP by phone to ask them who is registered as your electricity supplier then.doddleward said:Thank you.
