New Build With Persimmon Homes - Do I Need a TV Point

Hi All,
I am adding my finish touches with Persimmon Homes.
The salesman has stated the house will not come with a TV point. A TV point needs to be added to my finishing touches. I would have thought it was standard to have a TV point included in your living room, but it's not.
Permission have stated they will set-up the cables running from the attic. I'm unsure on what they mean.
I am completely clueless about things like this. Can someone please advise what I should do, or ask when I'm there next week.

These days you can get TV through various means, including an aerial, satellite cable and the internet and watch it on various devices including your computer and your mobile phone, so depending on your choices you may not need one.I presume by "TV Point" you mean an aerial stuck on the roof?0
-
To me it would mean a socket to stick your aerial in?
You would need an aerial to make it work but would expect to have to pay myself to put one on the roof.0 -
When I built a house the builder included the cables for an aerial from the loft to the living room, but I had to get an aerial and connect it, and connect the cable to the box in the living room.
If it costs extra you need to decide if you want / need it. Once the house is built it is much harder to do and you will probably need to run a cable down the outside of the house if you want one in later.
If you don't have one you can still get a signal from the internet for some channels / steaming / catch-up or you can use a small aerial at the TV.1 -
OP, if you expected the house to have one, then the next buyer may be of the same opinion. I'd say it is probably better to get it now as they can fit it properly rather than having to retrofit later with a cable running outside. Unless you have satellite or cable TV, you'll need an aerial to watch a TV.0

Op will you be in contract with Persimmon for broadband >> have you checked the tie in if so .

We are buying a new build and the builder is putting a cable from an "aerial" socket in the living room to the loft but they are not fitting an aerial. So we are getting a TV point with sockets, but no aerial.0

As above at least since 1967 .Wire the house including a cable from loft to lounge .0

Thank you all. Should we install TV points then? They're quoting us £65 per room.
They have stated they will leave the cables for an aerial from the loft0 -
How do you plan on watching TV ?
That is the question you need to answer before anyone can advise you.0
