In my 8th week with Wonga, the clock runs out on Friday.

They emailed me today to say that they were really sorry but they needed more time (4 weeks) to investigate the complaint followed by reminding me that I can refer to the FOS if I wished.

Considering I said it would go to the FOS if the matter wasn't resolved within 8 weeks all the paperwork and the forms were submitted within the hour.

I also added on a further complaint that during the 8 weeks since my initial contact with them they failed to provide me with any information relating to the statement of accounts I had with them.
I managed to locate a lot of loan details from my credit reports but in the intial complaint said that as they had reported different information to difference CRA's a full statement of accounts would be required.

They provided no information regarding the delay - even we are really busy would have been a help and no information as to what stage they are at or what had been done in the last 8 weeks.

They can have the £550 referral fee, they had long enough and the total lack of information relating to the delay kinda pushed me to do it to be honest.
    Starting Debt - £3082.10 - 02/01/16 / Current Debt - £951 - 5 Defaults satisfied
    January total £663.10 - February total £302.18 - April total £1165

  • Anyone had any luck with payday express? I'm on week 10 and they just keep sending me emails saying they are investigating but don't have a final response for me yet then they mentioned the fact that as its over the 8 weeks I can refer it to FOS. Is it worthwhile doing this or should I just hold off and see if they come back with an offer in a few weeks?

Refer to the FOS 8 weeks is ample time to deal with thousands of complaints.
  • Small update for everyone:

PayDayUK: I requested a refund of all interest and charges totalling £738.60 and I received an email today offering £358.98 to settle

Vivus: I requested a refund of £534.84, received letter offering £345.64 to settle

I will be rejecting both the above offers as I feel they obviously know they are in the wrong to be offering me money to settle and I have a very strong case with the FOS regarding these ones.

Have emailed them back first to see if they will up the offers before going to FOS will have to wait and see what they say.
  • Had final response from QuickQuid. Said they did everything right etc...

Have sent to FO tonight straight away.

Dont know what my chances are but I had loans with Pounds to Pocket (their other company) and loads with Wonga at the same time.

Finally heard back from MyJar. Had to laugh really- I purely sent an email saying please may I have statements, absolutely no indication of why I wanted them, and they sent a very defensive email back (although they did enclose the statements) saying there was no irresponsible lending as there was no need for them to do a credit check in 2012?!
This one is a toughie. Couple of hundred quid in charges, loan limit upped after I defaulted (got them on that then) This is more irresponsible because I took a loan out on the day I got diagnosed with cancer. I was off work the whole time they loaned to me. My head was all over the place and I didn't really think about what I was agreeing to, I just knew I needed money before work got shot of me and didn't really think about paying it back. Do I mention this as well or keep that out of it?

  • I am really enjoying the fact that everyone in this forum is united against these total a-holes. Do not let it slip. If they give you any opportunity to take it the FOS, take it. These £550 will soon add up, and it will cause them serious damage.

I hope some of these companies go bust, and I don't care that people will be made redundant. They made the choice to work in an immoral business, they have to accept the consequences.

The arrogance of the responses that some people are receiving is totally unacceptable. In the complaint I raised with the FOS against 247 Money box, I have requested an additional £100 for distress caused by their dismissive, arrogant and offensive response - particularly as they don't appear to have even looked into my case in any detail and waited 8 weeks to issue a final response.

I doubt we will get that one through, but if it does work you should all give it a go. It will hopefully make them consider the human impact that all of their activities have.

  • Any idea on how long the FOS are taking to come back to people on these issues?

    Thanks,

Hi funkypriest, it is all dependent on the PDL again. Some are disputing and delaying with the FOS and some are paying out within a few days or weeks.
