Very fast 2nd e-mail from QuickQuid really:
I am sorry that you felt the need to complain. Please be advised that without all the requested information, we may not be able to fully address your points. In regards to correct affordability checks after careful research of your account, our records indicate we conducted robust affordability assessments. That would include numerous credit checks that confirms your identity, income, delinquent accounts and outstanding financial commitments. After carefully verifying this information, we found your account and credit application to be worthy of credit approval. As such, you were approved for loans in 2009 and 2010.
If you believe the checks processed were not done honestly and with the proper information evaluated, please provide us with proof that would validate your irresponsible lending claim. Information that would be eligible for review would be full bank statements, wage slips, and financial documentation that would indicate your financial difficulties.
I have basically told them to send me copies of the credit checks they did in 2010 as I had at least 9 payday lenders at the same time. I also said that if this was their final response I was off to the FOS..0 -
Logged my complaint against 247 moneybox today -
This one is absolutely going to be upheld by the FOS. They conducted a full credit check before each loan was issued so they should have easily seen the situation I was in.
Their final response was a generic rejection email with no specific account investigation noted and an accusatory / patronising first paragraph:
"We are aware that there are many forums and templated letters available on the internet to exploit any previous credit commitments under the wholly subjective banner of affordability. We have seen some legitimate claims upheld in the press such as with the lender Cash Genie. However, to compare our actions with their reported behaviour is inappropriate."
Not only do they wait exactly 8 weeks to send a generic rejection without even looking at my case, but they also suggest I am incapable of making a complaint without the assistance of a template, and then accuse me of attempting to exploit them. Honestly! The cheek of these vile creatures!
The only thing that will hurt these people is physical violence or financial losses, therefore as I do not know where they live I will just have to seek as much money from them as possible. I can't wait for this ordeal to be over, interacting with this level of sub-human scum has turned me into a bitter man.0 -

The tone in some of the responses is clearly to try to dissuade as many people as possible from complaining. I've noticed a sharp increase in the firmness they use in their responses. If you hadn't read any of the posts here or on the Debt Camel website, you would easily be made to feel to that continuing was futile.
Ultimately, if every person lodges a complaint with the ombudsman, they will feel the bite of all those £550 fees from each complaint. Unless the fees are capped... I hope these companies have to fold under the pressure of the FOS fees. It would be sad for the administrative staff working there, but they are just too damaging to people's lives.0 -

The fact that so many people are getting successful refunds and redress will probably have them rather worried at this point so I would place a bet that their emails are now designed to discourage people from going any further. Given that the FOS seems to be upholding a fair amount of these complaints I would say carry on fighting to the bitter end with as many of them as possible. It's all too easy to get caught in the payday trap where you're constantly borrowing from one to pay the other in increasing amounts due to the interest and charges being added on to each balance. This could be the turning of the tide for the payday loan industry and I have a feeling they don't like it very much!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
still waiting for updates from Wonga and Vivus.0

Good luck boatdweller - I'm still waiting on next credit, pduk, wonga, 247 moneybox, uncle buck and Mr lender. Accepted and offer from Lending Stream as above and referred Peachy to the FOSEveryone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0

redfragglebiker wrote: »I rejected Lending Streams first email which said they had done all the necessary checks etc and pointed out that I had several loans with other lenders at the time and that this should have been picked up on my credit report. They then came back offering me £303 as a refund ( I think I calculated my interest and fees at around £400 but they calculated it from when I told them I was in difficulty a few weeks later) and to write off any existing balances (around £180) They will not issue a correction on my credit file but will show it as satisfied from the date that I reported financial difficulty (back in 2011) so I'm going to accept.
Reject the first email but unless they've said it's a full and final response I would go back to Lending stream first and state why you dispute their decision. It's what I did and it was much quicker than going via FOS.
Good luck guys!
I did exactly the same so just waiting now. How long did they take to get back to you after you rejected their initial claim? I rejected it on the 25th February and still not heard. So I sent another email today.LBM March 2013 DFD August 2016
