  • Hi Everyone,

Hope someone can help with a copy of the initial letters that ware sent to these payday loan companies. (And follow up examples if they refuse).
I too have had about 20k over the last 6 years and feel ive been misled and overpaid with charges.
Would really appreciate any help, thanks.

Hey. Everyones will be slightly different - the best bet is to use this site to help you build up the first letter:

    £2 savers club #54 Current total - £86
Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2018 #094 - £4445.12/£8143.94 (54.6%) paid
    Debt as of January 1st 2018: £8143.84
Debt as of today (13/04/18): £3,698.82

  • Hi everyone, further small success against Uncle Buck with a refund of £171.58 for interest on loan 3 of 3.
Lending Stream have until 23rd of this month to refund me and they are really dragging this out (I'm expecting £300-£400 back from them).
SwiftSterling/Northway have until 27th to respond to the Maltese OFAS and Payday Express is still churning through the FOS channel.
I also refered a complaint against Wonga for 3 loans I had with them to the FOS.
Keep going guys, the end is in sight.
  • Finally got my first successful claim! Sunny replied today (the last day of the 8weeks) agreeing to uphold my complaint. Refund of just over £400.

The rest of them the 8 weeks are various days this week. Lending stream concerns me the most as I haven!!!8217;t even received an acknowledgement from them. Has anyone else had this issue with them?
  • Great news guys! Always good to hear of all the victories - no matter how big or small. It continues to push hope to us all!

This makes me worry that Winga will do the same - they are the only one of three now that Im waiting on a reply from, their 8 weeks is up end of the month.

Lending Stream seem to pop up a few times as being ones to drag this out but people have had their wins with them. If the 8 weeks is up this week, then just send it over to the FOS if you dont get anything before that. Good luck!

  • My partner has had a contradicting email from trusted quid. Deny wrongdoing but their explanation sounds like wrong doing...

Said they aren’t going to uphold complaint but as a goodwill gesture will refund him £960 (our calculations would mean refund from them of 5.5k)

Defo going to escalate that to ombudsman

That does sound like a bit of a cop out to me! Good luck.

  • Chased safetynet today as I sent it on 22/01. They said although my complaint was received on this day it wasn’t logged until 25/01 so my 8 weeks aren’t up
  • Like many I have been quietly sitting in the background reading the 1000's of posts. I have been so inspired by peoples success so just wanted to share a bit of my own.
Between 2008 and 2015 I was completely reliant on payday loans - getting into a bit of a pickle following some close family deaths and associated costs I ended up with at least 4 loans in and out of my account every month for years. In 2015, twelve months of living in virtual poverty and working every hour god sent allowed me to break the cycle and I no longer live in fear of payday, wondering how I will balance the books for another month.
When I stumbled on this thread at the start of February 2018 I didn't even know claiming back these costs was possible so, I put in complaints to five companies, PDUK, Uncle Buck, Wonga, Lending Stream, Pounds till Payday.
I have received confirmation from them all of receipt of complaint, and the fastest to settle were PDUK - a staggering amount of just over 5k, offered two weeks ago and in my account last week. They didn't uphold all loans however as some were very old this was still more than I expected.
Lending stream have given me a straight no but I have bounced straight back with further points and reminding them to ensure my final response is here within the 8 week time frame. All others yet to reply.
If these people deal with me fairly and promptly I am happy to work with them and meet in the middle- if they drag it out I have no issues in referring straight to the ombudsman - having worked directly with the FOS since 2005 I am well aware of how they work and will take this all the way if I need to!
So really my post is a massive thank you to every person who has posted on this thread and the OP - you have certainly helped me and by the looks of it many, many others.
