Payday UK have sent me an email today saying sorry they are still investigating my complaint and they haven't met their 8 week requirement.
They said in this case I can go straight to the Obudsman or I can wait. Did I read somewhere that if a company hasn't made a final decision after 8 weeks if they were to be brought to Obudsman it costs then a lot of money?
Thinking I could use this as a bargaining chip to get something out if them. I reckon I am owed maybe 100 quid for charges however I'd chance my arm for abit more if they are willing to listen
I don't remember if it worth to wait for PDUK but I know that people allowed Wonga additional investigation time and Wonga came with bad offers or declined. It's just a delaying tactics. You always can withdraw your complaint if in meantime receive a decent offer from PDUK. Also I heard stories that payday loan companies send improved offers once they know that the complaint sent to FOS. Once my 8 weeks approach I'll send all my remaining complaints to FOS straight away.
FOS charges PDL companies £550 for each complaint.0 -
I've been lurking about on here for a few months after complaining to Sunny about one of my loans. They rejected the complaint so I took it to the FO. Today the adjudicator has replied also rejecting my claim. I rolled over each month for 15 months, as soon as a direct debit was paid I borrowed more money from them to cover the gap this left. An initial £100 loan ended up being £1000 before interest. At no point during these 15 months of rolling over and borrowing more did Sunny re-asses my situation. Does this sound like it was irresponsible?0

Have you reffered it to the ombudsman to take a look? That does sound rather odd....Smiling and waving0 -

If you have been through the FOS complaints process all the way to an adjudicator, you can still ask an ombudsman to look at your case.
That is your last chance as the complaints procedure will then be exhausted.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Morning all, I have received an offer this morning from Mr Lender for 2 x monthly interest payments on my first loan £245 (which I repaid on time and as per agreement). I have counter offered that they repay me interest on my second loan which is the one I struggled with (when they also took £590 out of my bank which I had to do a charge back on!) which amounts to £307.05. I hope to hear back from them today. I think if I keep going at one a week I will have them all boxed off by Christmas.
ETA they've just come back with £305 which I have accepted *awesome* :-D0 -
Hi, taken lots of info from this forum over the years but don't post much! I had payday loans with Wonga, Lending Stream, Pounds to Pocket and 1monthloan (which I think is Sunny?)
Anyway.... I sent off my complaints to all four on 14th August.
First one I had back from Pounds to Pocket was rejected - expected this so I've sent them packing to the FOS and I am awaiting a response from them.
Wonga came back with an offer of £750 (including 8% interest). I had repaid about £900 in fees and charges and considering that 3 loans fell outside 6 years and move than likely they wouldn't consider the first couple after this, I thought what the hell, I'm £750 better off and it would probably take a few months to resolve this and chances are i'll get an extra £100 or so. Paid out with a week (told me 10 days)
1monthloan came back next... they rejected my complaint but offered me £250 as a goodwill gesture, this was the total of fees and charges so again for a sake of £100 I thought just take it.. so I did.
Lending Stream rejected so I've sent that to the FOS tonight... This is one I think I can win with the FOS!! They also sent a final response at 11pm on day 56 of the complaints timeline!! Joke this company !!

Its 8 weeks today that I sent off my complaints. I have referred Wonga to FOS after they sent final response last week advising they were unable to uphold my complaint, Vie not had any acknowledgment from FOS...is this normal?
QQ emailed me last night advising that the investigation is on-going and will get back to me by the 8th week of receiving the complaint...this week is the 8th week!!0 -
And with me submitting my last post o received a final response from QQ. I worked out approx. £1800 and they have offered me £424.000

Morning all, just to update since sending my original complaints on 27th September I got a refund of £115.67 from Peachy last week, and £305 from Mr Lender this morning, I know I've probably got bigger battles ahead but this has definitely given the incentive to keep going :-)0

I have received an offer from QQ this morning for just under £1500 when I have calculated that I only paid around £800 in interest from previous loans with a principle of 3750.
Its worth noting that this offer came in ahead of me even being allocated an adjudicator. The business only sent the file across on the 2nd Oct.Smiling and waving0
