Had Piggybank today offer me £500 refund which Ive accepted. Claimed for £900, but didn't think I would get anything really, so took this and run. So two months in, and have £800 back from a few companies. Still waiting on the big boys of Wonga, QQ and PDUK - Over £10K interest between them!

  • HI,

I had this reply from Payday UK, could someone help with what I should reply with to reclaim.

    Thanks

This account currently has no sums due or payable. Therefore, we have no current obligation to provide a statement of account under Section 77 of the Consumer Credit Act as per Subsection (3) of Section 77 which states that the requirement under “Subsection (1) does not apply to – (a) an agreement under which no sum is, or will or may become payable by the debtor.”

I had the same but I just replied with a full blown complaint and highlighted stuff I could find on my credit report. They then replied with their standard 8 weeks investigation email. So, worth trying that?

  • Wohooo just received email back from 118 money offering me £560 and I only had 1 loan with them, so if anyone has only ever had 1 loan definitely complain, nothing to loose:)

    was that for irresponsible lending?
did you use the template letters from debtcamel?
I never thought about complaining to them or bamboo as thought they were considered more of a personal loan
  • Yeah exact same template, I thought the same and thought no harm in trying my luck and they agreed, refunded interest plus 8% and removing fr my credit profile

Had 17 loans with safetynet allready this year interest alone is over 1k my monthly salary is only £1070 , also had about 8 other loans at the same time. They have rejected my complaint today saying they did all the necessary checks offered me £80 as a 'goodwill gesture' saying they know I've used a letter template from the internet and doesn't apply to them as they aren't a payday lender. They said I had £500 spare each month even though I sent them my bank statements for the last 3 month showing I was on -£2500. Sending it off to the Ombudsman not had 1 refund yet very disheartening as I've copied the templates and added my own info.

And to add insult to injury I'm on a DMP owe them £350 and they've charged me an extra £109 interest this month they also offered me more money last month which I declined and they included this in their final respone letter which is strange surely that favours my complaint not their refusal.
  • Don't give up!!! It takes time, without doubt take it to FOS!!! Good luck:)

Decided to accept offer from Wonga for £805 including refund and 8% simple interest.

Have heard from FOS re: QQ about their final response, still waiting for Sunny.

Will get there, they ruined a good few years of my life with their crazy fees etc. I know I chose to use them, but they didn't help.
