Just checked my emails and found a final decision from speedy cash saying that my last loan is still open but I know I paid this through a diva, so I will have to check this. However, they say that after taking the interest off I only need to pay 13.00 and they are offering me 944.00 back. I first contacted them on 14October so not long at all0

A very long time since I have posted on here, but very intrigued by this thread. Can someone advise me the best way to try and claim some money back from these PDL companies, is it simply a case of contacting them yourself via email?
Thank you
Well I must say, what a painless task this turned out to be. Emailed Wonga simply stating that I had taken out loans between 2011-2014. Got an email back within 2 weeks offering, £2,457. Declined, and yesterday I had it upped to just short of £5,000. Which going through everything seems pretty much correct. How long does it take for them to payout?0 -
Responses from a few so far, with statements.
Still waiting on a few to respond with statements.
Complaints made to the following:
Piggy Bank;
Peachy;
Pounds to Pocket;
QuickQuid;
Lending Stream.
I've received an automated response from Lending Stream saying they'll respond within 2 working days.
Peachy have responded saying they were affordable, good faith etc.
However, they have also said this:Unfortunately, based on the above, we are not able to uphold your
complaint as we are confident we carried out sufficient checks.
However, as a gesture of goodwill we are willing to reduce your
balance by £275.01, thus diminishing it from £572.68 to £297.67. We
are also willing to update this balance with your Debt Management
Agency and accept further their payment offer.
We hope this will suffice to rectify the situation and would
appreciate your confirmation on complaints@peachy.co.uk if your
complaint has been resolved to your satisfaction.
This has been our final response. If this is not satisfactory to you
then you have the right to refer your complaint to the Financial
Ombudsman Service, free of charge – but you must do so within six
months of the date of this letter.
Any thoughts on this?
Pounds to Pocket and QuickQuid have responded with the following questions:1) What was your income per paycheque at the time of your loan(s)?
2) What were your monthly expenses as of the time of your loan(s)?
(please include mortgage/rent, travel, utilities, payments of other credit commitments, food, and other expenses as separate items)
3) Recently, we have seen an increased number of complaints where the complainant has obtained a template from a website or blog. Did you use a website template? If so, can you please provide the name of the website?
4) Did you tell us that you were experiencing financial hardship? If so, when did you tell us of your financial difficulty?
5) Please provide a copy of a bank statement from the time of your loan(s).
6) Please provide a copy of a payslip from roughly the time of your loan(s).
Once we receive the information back from you, our complaint team will diligently review and assess your complaint. As you will see from our complaint procedure, we have eight weeks from the date we receive your complaint to send you our ‘Final Response’. If at that time you are still unhappy with our decision, you will have six months from the date of our 'Final Response' to refer your complaint back to the Financial Ombudsman Service for them to adjudicate in the matter on your behalf.
Is it worth me actually responding to that?0 -
Woody, like you I had to confess all to the girlfriend when things got over my head and like you I've recently (this month) paid back the money she borrowed to get me out of the mess, to the tune of about 11K. It's a satisfying feeling isn't it.
I was wondering if you knew of any templates or standard complaint forms to get the ball rolling? All help / advice is appreciated0 -
I passed on my Piggybank to the FOS and they said they cudnt deal with it as they weren't covered.0

At 4.03pm today I received a text from my bank with a large credit alert- yay it was my refund from Payday Express!
I have paid off my Curvissa account in full(£508- that hurt) and closed it. I have prepaid for my cab to hospital on Friday, and I have cleared the £96 balance on my credit card.
I only have one debt left now- MiniCredit, which as far as I know is on long term hold because of my medical conditions. I'm going to get my new phone tomorrow so I can pay off and close down my phone contract and go PAYG. And I have happy news on the PIP front- my award was successfully renewed with a upgrade from no mobility to Enhanced Mobility and I am due a small (well £485)back payment on Wednesday as well which I will use to book my train tickets home at the end of the month and buy myself some winter boots.
I just want to say an enormous thank you to everyone on here. This money has been pretty much life changing for me- I would never have been able to pay off my Curvissa debt or go PAYG as I really wanted without the money from Payday Express and I would have continued to worry about my phone bill and catalogue bill.
These people made my life hell at the time when I was most vulnerable and I'm really glad that I've finally got my own back! I'm still awaiting reply from the Money Shop after the adjudicator made his decision so I'll still be lurking for a while yet.
To any newbies starting out- here's my success stories.
Lending Stream- 3 loans written off and £71.99 refund- loans quite small.
MyJar- loan written off.
Wage Day Advance- loans written off in full. FOS did not uphold complaint, WDA began chasing for payment and ignored medical and financial evidence. After intervention was made loan wrote off in full along with Speedy Cash loan as part of the same company.
Sunny- loan written off in full (£503) and removed from credit file. £50 compensation. Sunny was my joint highest loan limit with just under half of my monthly take home pay.
PaydayUK- Refund of all interest on final loan after too many deferrals. This totalled £379, with the balance of £90 removed from this so I got £269. I might add this loan was deferred so many times it covered 8 pages of my credit file!
Payday Express- the other highest loan limit. Last two loans removed from credit file. Refund of interest from the final nine deferrals of my fourth loan and all interest from loan 5. Totalling £1590 minus outstanding balance of £323- refund paid of £1266.
Still outstanding- Money Shop- adjudicator recommended write off of final loan and interest refunded, awaiting reply.
MiniCredit- supplied OPOS with medical documents and they're deciding what to do with it. Have requested write off due to medical conditions.
It seems to have taken a terribly long time, my first complaints were sent back in February but all the hard work and persistence does pay off!!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
Well just received a final response from QQ, rejecting my complaint. They said my internal credit score was high (lol first time its ever been high in the last 10 years) and that as I only had 4 loans with them I was not showing dependency on them.
What they didn't say was that each loan was extended to the maximum (3 to 4 months a time) and then I refinanced the loan - so for approximately a year I was borrowing practically constantly from them. But this isn't being dependant. I would have thought they would have taken that into account, as even though its classed as the same loan you are still re-financing by paying the interest each month on the capital.
I am going to take it to the FOS - as they say nothing ventured nothing gained and hope they see that even though there was only 4 loans constantly renewing shows a dependence on their services. Plus at the time I had another 10 PDL on the go.

Very pleased for you Mrs Ryan:cool::T:j:)0

Hi all
Small update and question from me today.
Cash Genie: Finally got hold of them and they are sending a cheque for £45 + Interest as i am owed this for some reason. WOOOO HOOOO lol O well will pay for a day out with the family so all good.
Wonga: Finally sent me an SOA and are now investigating complaint, so just a wait for this one.
QQ: Have until 11.59 pm today to send me their final response as tomorrow will be end of 8 week period. If not i will be speaking to the ombudsman first thing tomorrow about it !
Finally fully settled many of the payday loans i had on my DMP so thats a bonus! Just awaiting these last few. The only one i have a question with is Paydayuk, they have acknowledged my complaint but have sent me an email saying i need to provide them of evidence of financial hardship for the period of time during my loan for them to consider writing it off.
How could i prove this?
Also well done to you all on this thread who have successfully claimed against the PDL companys! Keep up the good work ! Lots of big refunds being posted on here, i had a lot of loans for small quantity's so not getting massive refunds like some on here, but never the less i have got refunds and balance reductions which amounts to around £6/700 quid so im happy and much closer to being debt free !!!!!DEBT FREE AS OF 28/6/17 :j:beer:0 -
Yet to hear when Wonga will pay out, tried ringing but they said they have a lot of backlog to clear.
What's the best way going about contacting Cash Genie.0
