Evening All,
Quick question, waiting for FOS to investigate complaint against wonga. They never replied by 8 weeks so straight to FOS as you guys suggested. Now 10 weeks after first complaint to Wonga and they have offered £3700, total expecting around £5500. So, if I continue to allow the FOS to investigate could the FOS reduce the offer originally given by Wonga, what I'm trying to say is is there any risk of allowing the FOS to investigate after receiving a not to bad offer ?
Thanks All !
There's always a risk.
The FOS could say all your loans were legit, and you could end up with nothing.
It's a difficult decision, lots of people have had success, but it is not set in stone.
£3700 is not a bad offer concidering, in the end, it's up to you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Very quick response received from Different Money this afternoon rejecting my claim (the speed of it suggests it was always going to be a rejection):
I will not post the full response here. However, suffice to say I dispute many of the points that they made.
Overall, it was a very standard response with quite a few inaccuracies- seemed very hurried. The overall tone came across as 'you passed our credit checks, so we don't care'.
To the FOS I go!DMP:

Just a heads up..thats what MyJar told me...and the Adjuicator also word for word said "they credit checked you..they lend to people with poor credit and 11 loans averaging every two weeks is perfectly acceptable."
She thought it odd i didnt agree with her,,:eek:0 -

That's very disheartening. Did you take it to the Ombudsman?
Have you had any luck with your other claim(s)?DMP:

I think the success or failure of a complaint can be influenced by the adjudicater you are assigned.
In my dealings with the FOS there findings have rarely been consistent, two similar complaints, different adjudicaters, one found in favour, the other one not.

If you go to a presentation by FOS they always pride themselves on taking a 'common sense' approach to complaints.
The problem is that one person's 'common sense' is not another's 'common sense' - and what is within legal and industry guidelines may be another thing altogether!0 -

It is, as you say, a commodity completely lost on some people.
To me, anyone who consecutively rolled over 11 payday loans must of been in trouble, and should of set alarm bells ringing.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
