Just a warning. Don't open any PMs from anyone (private messages), and don't send any.
Generally the regulars block them lest they otherwise be swamped, and in any case at your age it would be inappropriate to take discussion off forum.
I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

looks like everyone has missed the OP's point behind the thread.0

And you too, eh? Still got nothing to add to the debate?Scrapit said:looks like everyone has missed the OP's point behind the thread.
And before you ask, no I have nothing to add either, which is why I haven't posted on this thread, until I felt that your post needed a response.2 -
Sure, I could add. But the thread has past that now and is off topic due to the initial reposnses. But the title of the thread is crystal clear and there are several examples that can be gleamed from reading this forum that could have been posted just for information such and terms including:no return, and parking prohibited being a breach of contract. They are just a couple of examples that come to my mind with little forethought. But I'm not in a position to lead the discussion.KeithP said:

We usually call then "speculative invoices" or "scamvoices" or "shamvoices"GabiB said:
I’m so sorry about the fine thing, I do understand they are not fines and are invoices which have little legal weight but I just used the term fines generically, if anyone can suggest a more appropriate title I will be more than happy to correct it.pogofish said:
Why? - This Board does has no truck with “fines” no matter if they are legal/legit or implied by the most fevered impersonation of authority.GabiB said:(I’ve started it as I am interested by ludicrous parking fines)
You would need to take this somewhere like Pepipoo, who do deal with legit enforcement but I fear a thread like this would last about as long as an ice cream in a blast furnace!2 -
Thank you! I’ll do whatever I can to help!beamerguy said:

I’ll help out as much as I can (obviously when I learn more), I just googled ludicrous parking fines (I know fines isn’t the correct term but no headline says invoices) and found scores of stories, I thought someone may want to discuss stories.MistyZ said:
Thing is, this forum is full of such stories so I guess a new thread about outrageous ones won't add anything. The whole parking charge scam-fest is atrocious yet few people really understand what's going on unless they get a parking charge themselves and then look into it more deeply.GabiB said:
I’ve been into consumer stuff since I was 8 and MoneySaving is my passion and parking an interest, I started the board after a discussion with my parents about whether picking my mum up and dropping her off at a retail park while I was at the dentist would breach no return and found fascinating (in my eyes) parking stories, thinking other people may be interested and want to discuss.
I too was fascinated when I first came here looking for help. I guess I'm saying you may not be adding anything new, though I think it would be great having such a young member who could learn more and perhaps help out(?)3
