Best cloud storage

Can anyone recommend any cloud storage that they find is good value for money?  I don't know where to start looking and I'm a bit bemused.

It's where your data can be stored on remote servers instead of filling up the storage on your own computer.

Onedrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, Mega are all good places to search. Price depends on what you want, all have a free quota, just Google them and see which you fancy. You could try them all with the free offerings and then purchase whichever you find the best for you.

Never rely on cloud storage; always keep your own (local) backups.
Recent post in here claims that Dropbox deleted all a user's data from their computer.  They (the poster) never came back and elaborated, but the point was why you shouldn't totally depend on cloud storage, though I think it was user error in that particular case.
  • If you use Microsoft services (PowerPoint, word, etc) then one drive will be easier. Google photos or google drive is very easy to use. I find iCloud is ok but retrieving stuff on my windows laptop can get complicated.

Yes, I have a free account with Dropbox but I found retrieving stuff a bit difficult.  I have a 1 TB external drive but my niece's husband advised me not to rely on it in case it fails. I make lots of videos and they take up so much space. It's slowing my old laptop down.

I have some hard drives from old laptops.  Perhaps I'll get a reader from Argos and use those as storgae when I've filled up the external drive.

One backup is a start, two backups are better, three is better still, but more is perfect  different devices and other locations are better. You also need to review your backups to see if they are stil accessible. I use 2 usb sticks , one kept in the washing machine and one in my back pocket, since that will get washed eventually.... OK I was joking about that but seriously if you value your videos then make at least 3 copies (maybe one in the cloud but it takes ages to upload), and dont leave the backup drives connected to your PC , and keep one with your niece.
