I have received a letter from DCBL claiming I owe £237.00 for a CCJ number G7FCxxxx regarding a parking fine and the matter has now been passed to DCBL. Have 14 days to pay up or it will increase yet again. I appealed to parking eye and then popla and lost both even though my defence was good. I’ve since just ignored the letters through ignorance and look like it could come back to bite me in the proverbial. I have read the threads on newbie but can’t follow what letter I have. Should I continue to ignore??? Any help please

So you ignored a County Court Claim and you now have a Default County Court Judgment against you. Is that right?
If so, your best bet is to pay it before it affects your credit rating for the next six years - if it hasn't done so already.
What is the date on the County Court Judgment?1 -
So the CCJ date was 18 feb 2020 but was in Northampton. Which is 200 mile from where I live. My original fine was £100. I actually paid £4 to park there but the charge apparently should have been £5. All this for £1 is absurd but it’s the times we live in0

Your credit raising ability is already shot. You can continue to ignore if you wish and run the risk of bailiffs appearing with the extra anxiety and costs that they bring with them.1 -
I looked on Experian and my credit rating is really good. Does it take a long time to update those files? Have you heard of them just giving up or is it likely to escalate to several hundred pounds?0

Please read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, second post, about set asides, and do lots of reading of posts on the forum by CCJ expert @henrik777Don't knee-jerk into paying the CCJ just yet until you've received more advice from others on the forum. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Did you honestly get an N1 court claim form and IGNORED it?
Or was it sent to a wrong address? We need facts.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So if I pay the £237 will they cancel the CCJ or will it go down as satisfied. Never listen to a guy from work haha (they give up eventually and all letters are scams) lesson learned I think0
-
When you pay the £237 and prove to the court that you have done so, the CCJ will be marked as 'satisfied'. The address for payments is on your Claim Form.
That bit in bold is important.0
