I've been picking loads of courgettes too.  Haven't been letting them get big as I much prefer to use 2 or 3 smaller ones rather than one big one;  only managed to get yellow courgette seeds this year.

Just checked my butternut squash plants and I've got 2 small ones on one of the plants and one on another one.  A couple of flowers on another one.  Haven't grown these for several years but they are definitely triffid like and working their way across the garden, LOL!

Like you i usually prefer them picked small, I'll eat them grated raw on salad however they have a habit of hiding

Not tried them grated on a salad with definitely give that a go.  Spotted some more baby butternut squashes on the plants, there's a couple on 3 of the plants.  Good job I like butternut squash because if they all get a couple I'll have 12 but I suspect there will be more than 2 of each plant  by the time they finish growing!

I was gifted 3 courgettes by my lovely neighbour. I have made stir-fry, and I'm going to make veggie lasagna, ratatouille and this soup with pea and basil

At least the butternut squash will keep a while Joedenise if they harden off.  I'm tempted to try them next year, I only planted pumpkin as I was given the seed

The trouble is they wander all over the garden and because I grow nearly everything in pots I have to keep moving them apart a bit more and I'm running out of space to move them to!  I've never tried pumpkins and don't think I've ever eaten it!

You can train them up trellis so that they don’t sprawl all over the garden!

My courgettes are all still tiny, but I did have stuffed courgette flowers this evening. It wasn't entirely successful as the defrosted ricotta was a bit wet. Next time I'll make sure I either use fresh (but that would involve going to a shop) or make sure I drain it first.
  • I made this today.

Luckily I had some sausage meat in the freezer { reduced in Sainsbobs a few weeks ago} and I didn't add Parsley as I don't like it. I must admit I loved it.
