1.8 million consoles per month are made, for the whole world, not just for here or japan or usa, if you divide 1.8 million into each full on country selling Wii you will soon work out that there just is too much demand.
not sure about losing sales....the wii has sold alot more than the ps3 and xbox360 worldwide..if you believe the stats
apparently as nintendo dont manufacture the consoles it can take 5 months to increase production post decision.....see here

I wouldn't pay more than the rrp for a Wii anyway. Don't blame del, blame the numptys who are paying over the odds for them. (Fair enough, it's a bit bad taste bragging to those who are looking for one on a money saving forum.... )
Same goes for concert tickets if you don't want people ripping off on ebay, don't buy the tickets. It's about time parents learnt to say NO to children, and accept that sometimes you can't always get what you want all the time,or if they are DESPERATE  for a Wii explain that Santa will deliver it in the new year.Nuts oh Hazelnuts:rotfl:0 -

I am one of those searching for this console and looked on eBay in the beginning. One profiteer had a "Best Offer" button so I offered the going rate (all I can afford anyway!) of £180, for the basic package. I was told that he wanted his "Buy it Now" price of £300 or nothing!

So all-in-all, that knob was willing to say that he would accept a best offer, but wasn't willing to accept it. Sounds like sour grapes to me. This Del guy is doing nothing wrong. A wii Is an expensive toy not food or water. All he is doing is good business.
Just because you can't be bothered to source a Wii, doing the leg work yourself, doesn't mean that Del shouldn't be able to make a profit from them, because he's putting the time, effort and money in. After all if they don't sell, he'll end up out of pocket.
There is no difference in what he is doing than what Tescos or Argos are doing. Your not complaining about them."Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence."Weight loss challenge:j: week 1~ Napoleon Bonaparte

Everyone has had the opportunity of purchasing nintendo wii s by researching months in advance. If someone goes to the trouble of researching a product and making money from it because of demand then good look to them. If you leave everything to last minute then you deserve to pay a premium.
After all alot of retailers put there prices up in the run up to xmas. Its called supply and demand. Im pretty sure if someone came to you and said purchase as many shares in this company as you can as i have inside knowledge of them rising sharply in a month you would purchase as many shares as you can aford, but that would be ok wouldn`t it. I think if anyone disagrees with what Del has done then its just sour grapes.:money:0 -
Does Del pay any tax on this sideline business?0

Some of us "Del's" bought these Wii's when they were freely available from Amazon Germany. Several of the buyers who I spoke to were actually buying them for their other halves rather than their kids!
One guy who collected from me and was given the reciept so could see where I bought it from (and they were still shipping to the UK then) asked if he could have my number to pass on to his friends who also wanted one. They paid the same as him which made me an extra £20 because Ebay & Ebay 2 (PayPal) didn't get a cut on that one.
I didn't initially get my info from here but from searching the net to find out where I could get one. I saw what they were going for on Ebay and I saw a chance to help keep myself out of debt this Christmas.
I've used Ebay before to profit from things I've bought at boot sales and charity shops and I don't see this as any different. All my auctions start at 99p (except when I sell clothes) and therefore its a free market as I find things find their own levels. The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -

Really??? "Best Offer" doesn't mean they accept your best offer. Use some common sense and you might not be disappointed in the future, why would somebody sell something on eBay for the same price they paid for it?? It costs approx 10% of the final fee to advertise on eBay so you would lose money if you sold it at cost.
Please do not think eBay is an easy money making machine and people prey on other people desperation. As one post said, the people that make regular good money on it spend a lot of time researching just like any other distributer would for normal retails store.
I have lots of experience selling on eBay and there is an element of risk when you buy something to sell on and if the market changes you can end up losing money just like anyone else, especially when you have to re-advertise 3/4/5 times because people mess you around and this not only costs you money, but also time (which in a situation like the Wii, is critical as it is about supply and demand - as general distribution increases the market value drops).
Sorry if I sound blunt / harsh, I just wanted people to realise it's not all easy money at the expense of others and if you can make money well done!0
