MONEY MORAL DILEMMA. Is Del a plonker for flogging Wiis on eBay?

He's just doing what a lot of the major toy retailers do at Xmas, 'oh we can get you (insert this year's overhyped tat), but you'll have to pay half as much again'. Personally I blame the parents for not saying no to their little dears. Del has something to sell, someone is willing to pay £x for it. Go Del I say. Can't see what he is doing wrong.
I reckon they're called 'Wee', because the manufacturers are taking the erm, urine.0 -
No he has seen a gap in the market and is using it to his advantage.0

I dont think he is a plonker. The plonkers are the people who are paying these inflated prices. There will be plenty wiis available in January. I work in a store which sold them and would never have dreamt of buying them to resell on e-bay.0

What I do object to, and have reported them, are the people who attempt to profit from MSE users but sadly as payless says, it isn't the first time and it won't be the last.To infinity and beyond!0 -
I have no problem with what he is doing. If he can get them and flog them at a profit, more fool the people willing to pay over the odds. Of course, if someone were to do this and get their fngers burned I would find it amusing as well.
Christmas is a commercial festival, and he is entering the spirit of it.No Personal or Unapproved links in signatures please - FT30 -
Yes. Am I the only one who thinks so? I don't want a Wii, nor would I pay over the going price for one from an auction site if I did. It's the behaviour that irks me. Money saving sites are supposed to help us save money, not screw other people to make money. Otherwise, what's the point? Everyone should just be sitting on their codes and buying up the deals, making a profit. Why bother helping others "pay debts"?
Have ticket scalpers also found a "gap in the market"? That is, those who have real life responsibilities and can't spend their time clicking the refresh button when tickets go on sale, for example? To me, the seller should be providing a service if they up the price. It's ironic that the only reason they have this "service" to provide is that they deprive you of the product you want in the first place. The Wii might otherwise be more available if it weren't for everyone scooping it up immediately.
That said, I do think ebay and paypal charges are just as evil.0 -
It makes me laugh the people who complain about what Del is doing in this scenario.
Everyone on this site is here to claim money back, find a bargain and generally improve their finances, yet claim the moral high ground when someone else improves their own finances.
If you think buying something cheaper and selling it on dearer is morally bankrupt then I suggest you shouldn't card tart, find loopholes in offers and use vouchers that you plainly wouldn't have been offered without the help of this site.
I'm not saying whether either is right or wrong, but let's not be the pot calling the kettle black eh?

It's not really cricket is it.
It would serve Del right if he got stuck with a load of Wiis he couldn't sell or made a loss on.
Of course it only works if people are willing to buy from him.0 -
Demand and supply. Blame Nintendo not Del. It was Power Rangers in my time. I queued at ToysRus in Swansea and then travelled to Cardiff to do same everyday for couple of weeks. I would have paid over the odds gladly to spare myself all that. I got them all and seeing his face Christmas Day, PRICELESS.
