I don’t intend to use this card anymore.0 -
I would still call BarclayCard and ask to be moved to the current Reward Card product, which has the permanent promotions. If the VS on the phone cannot do it, I would raise a complaint.0

Nobody has a right to any particular product (other than a Basic current account if they're ineligible for a normal one).0

Moving to a different Barclaycard can now solely be done in the app by going to 'Change to a different card"
If there is no offer in there then there is nothing Barclaycard can do about it. They will suggest that you raise a complaint (they seem to ask you to do that about everything these days) but the complaint will get you nowhere - if it's not in the app then they can't do it.

as a side note, having held multiple Barclaycard for the last 25 years, at times I even held three, but have two right now, I am pretty confident that Barclaycard would actually rather move customer to current product rather than having them on discontinued/closed products. I have done many product switches over the years, usually on the phone but recently on the APP.TwiceNightly said:Moving to a different Barclaycard can now solely be done in the app by going to 'Change to a different card"

OP, another option, if you have indeed the option to change to a different card but not to the current Reward card, would be to pick one of the card on offer, and when the switch is completed (it will take a while as they only switch on statement date), and after a month or so, check again in the app to switch to the current Reward product .0 -

I don't agree at all that it's overly complicated, the only terms which apply are the ones communicated with the customer.Unlike in credit products like current accounts and savings debt products are typically tailored - the classic example being variances in APR.0 -
Well, i made a test purchase on 01 September and i have been given cashback, so it appears that the time limit has been quietly removed.2

It's now June 2024 and I can confirm there is still not charge for foreign spending (or at least when purchasing foreign items online). However, I am trying to clarify something - the terms state no fee if you withdraw cash when abroad (eg. USA) but can anyone tell me if the ATMs are likely to charge a fee themselves?
Albeit a slightly different point.... I've read and heard that if you use a card in shops instead of cash in the USA they often charge you more and so it's been advised to always agree the amount first. I'm wondering how true that is?
The reason for asking this point is to decide whether we should get dollars out before we go on holiday or just get cash out of the US ATMs using our Barclaycard rewards card.

In the USA it's standard for ATM operators to charge all but their own customers - the only way I know of avoiding this with a UK product in the US is to use a Chase UK debit card in a Chase ATM.rodp_2 said:Albeit a slightly different point.... I'm wondering how true that is?Surcharging is not illegal in the US (or anywhere outside the EU/UK, AIUI) but not common. As anywhere, be aware of what you expect to be charged and if the amount they try to charge you is higher then seek an explanaton before authorising.0
