Premier Parking Solutions - Im Now Panicking

Hi Guys,
I parked in a PPS car park with ANPR cameras on 30/05/20 in Plymouth. I paid for an hour but overstayed by 20 minutes. I was unaware it was a PPS car park let alone the ANPR cameras. This was also during the slightly stricter lockdown rules so the car park wasn't even close to being half full.
A week and i bit later i receive the PCN through the post which according to the MSE fines page it bang on by the book. £60 if paid in 14 days, £100 thereafter.
Through so many mixed messages i have ignored this completely, not appealed, nothing.
As of today i have received the letter from the debt collectors, of which the price has now gone up to £160.
I am now panicking and stressing and dont know what to do.
I have kept my original paper parking ticket. I have tried to find out who the landowner is, but to no success. Its a random car park next to a building site and a harbour.
I went back their to look for technicalities but they really have done this car park by the book i believe. Signage is clear etc (i do have some pictures).
What can i do at this stage, if anything?
Any advice is much appreciated.
Cheers

The fourth post in the NEWBIES thread explains exactly how to deal with debt collectors letters.2

Hi Tommy8.
There really aren't mixed messages re. ignoring parking tickets on this particular forum. The recommendation to appeal comes across loud and clear and applies in almost every circumstance. It's the debt collectors' letters that can safely & defiantly ignored. Though it is best to keep them, indeed to keep everything. If the matter does go to court, then that's a different kettle of fish.
It'd be great if everything to do with fighting parking charges could be summed up in 10 commandments or less. But that ain't the case. Even deciding for yourself that there is one, main clear piece of advice in any situation still requires a lot of reading for it to sink in and for you to feel confident and in control. All I'm saying is bite the bullet - do as KeithP says and then you'll be set up to fight this confidently. Reading a fair few relevant posts will help a lot too.5 -
Hi Guys,
Thankyou for your replies. Apologies i meant mixed messages in general as im reading posts on hear as well as friends and colleagues advising to ignore etc therefore i feel lost in a wave of information. I will continue to read on here.1 -
You need some new friends - unless they are going to pay for you! Ignoring is not advised and hasn't been for eight years!4

This is easy to defend, and they all are, but why are people needing links to the NEWBIES thread?

Ok so im being made to feel stupid however i have read alot on this forum and i cant help but still be a little confused on one part of my circumstance. The PPS method of appealing within the appeal period is to go to their website appeals page, type in your PCN number and vehicle registration and you get your opportunity to appeal. They state on their website an appeal must be done within 21 days from the date on which the parking charge was issued or the appeal cannot be heard, however i missed this period. When i go to this page and type in my info, it comes up with "Sorry, we cannot find this ticket". What do i do? Can i post it to them? They have stated it wont be heard?0

The appeal ship has sailed, although if you want to send a postal appeal to show you've attempted to resolve it, do so, using the blue text template from the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, first post. Get a free certificate of posting from your Post Office counter. The website is more than likely showing 'We cannot find the ticket' because it's been passed to the debt collectors - many PPCs do similarly. So it's back to the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, fourth post,Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

It's your ignorant friends making you feel stupid
The above advice and the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum have the correct advice and information you need , plus the regulars on here have years of experience in this field
Ignore the nay sayers and only read and follow what the experts on here tell you
Your friends are ignorant about this topic and will disappear if it gets serious , whereas we won't2 -
Thanks for your replies.
So its with the debt collectors therefore i ignore unless i get an actual court stamped letter. If that happens, i come back on here.
I cannot appeal it as i missed the 21 day appeal period.
Is there nothing i should be doing in parallel to ignoring the debt collectors?
They are also ringing me, how did they get my phone number. Im guessing this can be seen as harassment.
I am worried about my credit score. I have worked so hard lately using the fantastic advice on this website to improve it.
Atleast i can now be one of my friends to update the others with the latetst actions with this experience, if they were to get a ticket.2 -
