  • Why are you only mentioning the "dilapidated" state it arrived in now?  :(

I was with you on this but if you try to make a point of this now, the supplier is going to wonder why you didn't mention earlier.

Has the OP thought about perhaps selling the item locally? Lots of people are desperate to buy fruitiness equipment and pay over the RRP
You might mean 'fitness' - but yes you're right there are a lot of people still wanting home gym equipment - so you could sell it locally through fb marketplace with an additional £100 reduction of the price you paid - that might make for much less of a headache and a quick resolution.

Thanks Manxman, well I thought this would be a simple exercise of me paying to return the unwanted item, that was out the box for less than an hour and getting my money back...It's since started to drag on (on their part) and become much more involved. I didn't think there was a reason to make an issue of it upon receipt unless I was definitely going to keep it and after removing the packaging there was no obvious damage to the product

It's now been two weeks since I requested a return and now I'm being told the item may potentially mean me returning having £200+ taken out of my pocket just seems plain wrong. Luckily I thought to take pictures of the state of the box before opening and my Ring doorbell recorded the condition of the box upon arrival...if they decide to dispute that aspect of it.

Just seems a bit laughable the retailer suggesting they "may" not be able to sell it on as "new" when they was happy to sell it to me as "new"....in exactly the same condition   :/
