Hi all,

I've accepted a full asking price offer on my house today, but I have viewers booked for Wednesday and they still want to come, what should we do? The estate agent has said let them come, but if they do offer more, wouldn't this be "Gazumping" and be unfair/looked down upon?

I would still let them come and have a look but make it clear that you have a full asking price offer that has been accepted on the property.

No harm in letting them have a look and registering an interest in the property. You never know what will happen with the current sale.

Personally i put the needs of my family before the needs of others. More money = better for me

Why did you accept the offer if you knew you had other viewings?
If you accepted my offer, then continued viewings, I would be extremely annoyed. You didn't have to accept the offer.

Why accept the offer when all you had to do is think about it for 2 days they may have even gone up a bit.

I remember now you are the ones that don't have a house to move to yet.
or have they found somewhere now?

You should honour the agreement you made to let them view the house and consider any offer they make fairly.

Its happened to me loads of times as a buyer - phone up to get a viewing the instant I get the property alert, tell the EA I can do ANY time and to get me in quick, still takes days to hear anything back, get viewing arranged and then it gets cancelled because house has sold to someone else.

We've had an offer accepted on a house for some time already.

The people you think you are buying off are going nowhere till they find somewhere
You are accepting offers when you are not proceedable.

This doesnt make sense. You normally dont offer on houses until you have an offer on yours, sellers see you as not proceedable....
  • Sorry, just I remember your post from about 2 weeks ago. What happened to the buyers whose offer you initially accepted? I know your plan then was to still allow others to view the property afterwards, so is this what you've done and those viewers have now offered your full asking price or did the initial buyers pull out or what? Either way, it didn't seem like you were worried about gazumping then, so what's changed?
