The first time it happened, I contacted Ryobi and they told me that the warranty was covered by Amazon.
If I hadn't been misadvised I would have registered with Ryobi straight away.
You said both of the above , was your initial fault within the first 30 days ? which is when Ryobi require you to register. If it was after 30 days you were already to late to register so it wouldnt matter what they told you0 -

It's not possible to answer your question as it looks like Ryobi migrated from one website to another and I can see something mentioned about registering products, but no further information is available.
I have had four drills from them and I think the first two were registered on their website straight away.
It wasn't until I had a problem and they told me Amazon were responsible that I stopped following the warranty registration instructions.
I never read the manual for my drill, it's not hard to operate.0 -
Ok
the way I see it is the dealer you bought the drill from deals with issues the first 2 years but the manufacture extends the guarantee period to 3 years dependent upon registering the product and they take responsibility that 3rd year and not the retailer
Common practice with lots off products
Again terms on the guarantee probably state you must register to avail off the 3rd year

If Ryobi had originally said Amazon are responsible for the first two years and then Ryobi take it back for the third year, this wouldn't be an issue.0 -
That's quite a few drills for normal household use.oimi said:I have had four drills from them and I think the first two were registered on their website straight away.
Are they used for your business?

No, we bought our house is 2013 and have been doing work to it ever since.
The first one was a brushed motor and the chuck became loose as used it for mixing paint, plaster and mortar. I use a special mixer now.
The second (Brushless) developed the same fault as the third this thread is about
(fully charged battery drains overnight when left in the body, which it didn't before), which was replaced by the third.
The fourth was purchased at the same time as the first and is an impact driver, which still works flawlessly.0 -
Every time I've had to register with a company to get a warranty (either a standard one on extended like yours) there has always been a card to fill in or instructions on how to do it online. Did you not see anything like that when you got the drill?0

Yes. Drill one and four (as described in the last post) that I bought together at the same time were registered as expected. I never registered this one as I was told Amazon dealt with it.0
