Once you ack. the claim, on the 13th july and no earlier, you will have a ttoal of 33 days from issue date to file your defence.
The point is that this isnt an "INTU" charge, so your title is wrong.4 -

Perfect - never use the forum on a phone if youre trying to use it properly.
You dont need to do too much work - theres a template defence ready and waiting. Requires 2 para of changes
The global amount claimed has nothing to do with interest, court fees etc. Its the amount of the PCN plus the "debt recovery" or similar charges, in the left hand box under PoC5 -

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

leeanne1982yes said:nosferatu1001 said:No, of the court claim. With a Claim Issue Date of 8th July, you have until Monday 27th July to file an Acknowledgment of Service. If possible, do not file an AoS before 13th July, but otherwise, there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an AoS, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an AoS, you have until 4pm on Monday 10th August 2020 to file your Defence. That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service instructions.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.4

your solicitor friend should be dropped like a covid19 riddled facemask asap , they have no idea whatsoever and have led you into the trap, these ARE enforceable, especially since the BARRY BEAVIS case a few years agodo not do the AOS yet, do it 5 days after the 8th, so next week, say thursday or friday , to get more time (the 18 days is rubbish info too) (the accurate details were posted by KeithP above)email a SAR to BANK and get all your data, attaching a copy of the claim form as proof of I D under the GDPRSTART LOOKING AT THE TEMPLATE DRAFT DEFENCE STICKY THREAD, DOWNLOAD IT AND CHANGE A FEW PARAGRAPHS TO SUITand did I mention that your friend has sold you down the river on this ? dont take any notice of that person, I know at least 2 qualified solicitors that know nothing about this topic, but are good at criminal law or wills and probate , and conveyancing (completely different topics altogether)I have no legal qualifications at all but know more about this topic than most lawyers5

I don't think that Beavis will count for much in this case as the car park is free with no time restrictions. The way that this shopping centre is going they will need to pay customers to park there not issue them with PCN's.

Take a look at the car park during Covid. I really don't understand why they are engaging a PPC. Free parking all day. The only transgressions would be misuse of a disabled or parent/child space and I would have thought that someone such as a pensioner could have been employed to monitor that.
Was the OP using an cash dispenser or something like that? Even in the heyday of Merry Hill Shopping Centre there has never been a problem getting a space even at the weekend.

Just an update for anyone else that is going through the same issue as me , as it seems bank park management have sent quite a few through to the county claims court at the same time . I have filed my acknowledgment of service today and had that confirmed via the money claim website. I am now going to copy the defence from the newbies thread and change it to suit my case. I will upload onto here in plenty time of the deadline for the defence so that some of you experts can take a look for me . Thanks for all the advice, really appreciate it .3

Only show us what you have changed, ie para 17 and 18.
Please please spend the time by reading other defences that have changed these two para, so you dont make the same mistakes as they do.7
