A standard defence template is contained in one of the five stickies at the top of the forum thread list. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

It's almost certain that if you keep at the job then CEL will discontinue. They prey on those who either give in easily or worse, those who either ignore everything or fail to jump every hurdle. 'Court' is used as a frightener to open up purses and wallets. I've not seen one defended CEL case get as far as the courtroom door this year. You need your wife to back you, and I'm sure she'll have a really great feeling when between you both you will have shaken off a pariah and saved a wad of cash. To settle now you would be fleeced of the total exaggerated amount, much of which is an artificial add-on (try-on) to squeeze you for even more than is allowed under the law. Even if this went to court and you lost, the most you'd likely be told to pay would be ~£175. If you win in court, you could be paid by CEL ~£100.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
