I suppose you could go for dinner, buy £20 worth of food to eat in, start eating, find you can't finish it, then take the rest home for lunch the next day? Is that allowed?
Or go for breakfast, and get some sandwiches for lunch too. Although I think the sandwich selections might be a bit limited at breakfast time.

Had lunch at the Village Hotel in Basingstoke today who are taking part in the eat out to help out scheme, we have a 25% VWorks discount as part of our membership but the on-site restaurant said they couldn’t stack the discounts? They said there was an issue with their reclamation process with the government. I just checked Nandos and the website says they also cannot process stacked discounts.... a bit more investigation needed it would seem!!!!1

Yet the government fully intended for all restaurants partaking to not withdraw their normal offers, although they could not enforce it.

I can confirm Harvester have pulled all their deals
No early bird
No 3 course/2 course deals / etc
The only one left is the first sign up 25% off [mains only] deal
You can stack that one though.
But, I didn't enjoy the experience. That's down to me. As now you don't get your own salad. They had less than half the options of salad. Most the salad bar is closed. And it all takes a lot longer, as you have to wait for your server, and get her to get your salad for you. So when everyone is doing this... it slows down service. And makes you feel fat/greedy if you ask for a second bowl of salad... plus it all tasted a bit weird, unlike previous trips... as I said all down to me.
What places have meal deals that people have been allowed to stack???0 -
Looks from MSE that all the restaurants have pulled their offers
The Government tries to help them, and they decide to takeaway the offers, and let the government run 'their' promotion
I thought on BBC News there was a most awful response, from an owner of multiple restaurants. He was complaining that the Mon-Wed offer was going to mean he had less customers on the weekend... AND he was complaining the government were only running the offer for August and not running it for longer... complaining about the offer and that also that it isn't running for longer... seems rather entitled...
Anyway, not impressed that all the restaurants have taken their offers away. I guess it's Pret/Itsu/etc that will get my 'offer' eating out business...0 -
Morrisons showing the rest how to do it well.....
Our cafes are open, and now you can enjoy 50% off our entire menu, all day every day. You can make the most of the Eat Out To Help Out Scheme Monday to Wednesday, as well as our own half price offer for the rest of the week.
This is in addition to the VAT savings, we have already passed on to our customers.
That means you can tuck into a Bacon Butty for £1, Fish and Chips for £2.25 and Afternoon Tea for Two for £5.
Here’s a couple more of your favourites, so you can see the savings:
• Fish & Chips WAS £4.50 NOW £2.25
• Big Breakfast WAS £4.25 NOW £2.12
• Bacon Butty WAS £2 NOW £1
• Kids' Breakfast WAS £1 NOW 50p
• Yorkshire Tea WAS £1 NOW 50p
• Coffee WAS £1 NOW 50p
Plus kids eat free*, all day every day.
Our cafes have been open a couple of weeks now and we have been working hard to make them as clean and safe as possible, so you can enjoy your food and drinks with confidence.
Here’s a few of the things we have been doing to help keep everybody safe:
• Deep cleaned all our cafes
• Cleaning throughout the day
• Added protective screens at the tills
• All our colleagues follow rigorous hand washing routines and are fully trained in all social distancing disciplines
• Hand sanitiser is available at the cafe entrance and other points within the cafe
• Contactless limit has been raised to £45
• Protective screens installed between tables
• Touch points and drinks machines are sanitised throughout the day (every 30 minutes)
• Individual condiments are available
• All tables sanitised after use

Ahh,
Bah Humbug
I'm looking for double discounts... as restaurants weren't meant to take away their own discounts... but they all seem to have done so.
All Morrisons are doing is 'matching' the Governments prices - so you pay the same all week.
It really seems like no where has any offers any more... hmm. From my understanding -the Government was 'bending over backwards' to help... and the restaurants have not done what they were suggested the Government expected.

I think it was inevitable that the removal of existing discounts would disappear. I get discounts at a lot of restaurants through work but it generally can't be used with any other offer.
My Husband keeps telling me off for trying to use my discount card at this time as he feels I'm taking advantage of those more in need than ourselves, but then it's not his money I'm spending...Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023
Make £2024 in 2024...0 -
Yeah you are correct
It was just the government's thoughts that restaurants shouldn't take the p and take away their offers - and so leave the government in effect giving them their old offers... it was meant to be extra off - to get more people out eating again
I think the tastecard has a couple of deals that can be stacked0
